It focuses on the physical science basis of climate change. The Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Ministry of the Environment have produced infographics on the key messages of the report. The infographics, or information graphics, can be freely used by the public and the media Note: When using the infographics, please cite the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the Finnish Ministry of the Environment, and Climateguide.fi as references. The complete set of the infographics can be downloaded as a PDF file, and the individual images are also available in PNG format. INDIVIDUAL INFOGRAPHICS AS PNG FORMAT Figure 1. Global average temperature has increased by 1.1 degrees from the pre-industrial levels. Almost all of this has been caused by human influence. In all scenarios, 1.5 degrees of warming will be reached around the early 2030s. Figure 2. Climate change is visible on land, in oceans and in the atmosphere. Changes that have already occurred will continue, and some of them will be irreversible for centuries to millennia. Figure 3. The rate and scale of the changes in the climate system are unprecedented. Figure 4. In addition to emission reductions, limiting human-induced climate change requires that carbon dioxide is also removed from the atmosphere. Figure 5. Risks and impacts of global warming will multiply as climate keeps warming. Extreme weather events that cause serious damage will become the more frequent the higher the global average temperature increases. References: [1] REFERENCES * IPCC. 2021.
