Why should I choose Safer Date?

Safer Date is the ONLY online dating platform which puts your safety first.
Everyone must pass our background and ID checks before they can become a member.
Furthermore, non-members cannot browse through online profiles, adding a further
layer of security and privacy.

Who is Safer Date for?

Safer Date is for good, honest people without a criminal background who want to
meet a partner with the same qualities. As long as you fit those criteria, you
are welcome to join. Safer Date is for both heterosexuals and the LGBT
community.

Why isn't Safer Date free?

We’d love to offer everyone a free trial, but we have costs to cover to keep you
safe. We carry out thorough, global background checks, ID checks and offer a
fast-track service to get you online as soon as possible, which all have costs
attached – and of course we have the usual business running costs too. However,
we keep our prices as low as we possibly can and regularly have special offers
or competitions on our Facebook page to win free membership.

Once I'm approved, do I have to pay for additional features?

The only costs on Safer Date are the membership fees and the cost of the
background & ID checks. Once you’re approved, you are free to browse other
profiles, flirt, and send as many messages as you want to.

What background checks do you carry out?

Safer Date carries out the most comprehensive, global background checks
possible. We are proud to partner with an intelligence agency who work closely
with the Police, Interpol, the FBI, the National Crime Agency and other
intelligence agencies across the world. We also carry out insolvency checks and
addicts register checks to add a further layer of security. Please note: None of
these checks leave any footprint at all.

How long does it take to process my application?

You will receive an email with full instructions within 24 hours of signing up
to Safer Date. You will need to compete the ID check first, then once this has
been done, we will process your background check. 95% of our checks are returned
within 72 hours. We process the checks between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm,
Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

What if I already have a DBS Certificate?

Unfortunately, the DBS only shows up approximately 6% of the problem as it is
based on convictions only. Plus, it only shows crimes committed in the UK. Even
if you already have a DBS certificate, you will still need to go through our
full checking procedure.

How much does it cost?

Our online dating membership starts from just £25/month including the cost of
your thorough background & ID checks. The longer you sign up, the greater the

How does the recurring subscription work?

You can choose to commit to periods of 3 months, 6 months or a year. The longer
term you choose, the cheaper the monthly fee. Your membership is paid upfront,
but will auto renew unless you cancel your membership at least 48 hours before
it’s renewal date. You can manage your subscriptions within your account.

Is Safer Date open to people outside of the UK?

No – Safer Date is currently a UK dating site only. 

Can I cancel my recurring subscription?

Yes of course. If you do not want your subscription to auto-renew, simply cancel
your membership at least 48 hours before it’s renewal date. You will receive
reminders by email and you can manage your subscriptions within your account.

Can I upgrade my subscription?

Yes – you can upgrade your subscription at any time to make it more cost
effective for you by following the instructions below:

 1. Log in to your membership account.
 2. From your My Account page, click the link to “Change Membership Level”.
 3. The following screen will show you an overview of our available membership
    levels with links to upgrade or downgrade.
 4. After you select a new membership level, you will be directed to a checkout
    page in order to complete your membership subscription.
 5. Your previous subscription payment will be cancelled and a new subscription
    payment will be created. Your increased or decreased access will not be
    confirmed until a successful subscription payment has been received for your
    new membership level.

What happens if I fail the ID or background checks?

If you fail our checks, we will let you know straight away and you will not be
allowed to join Safer Date. We will refund the cost of your membership minus the
cost of the ID & background checks.

We will NEVER divulge the reasons for the failure to anyone else.

I'm worried that I might have a traffic offence - can I still be a member?

Yes you can. Traffic offences won’t stop you from joining our site. What will
stop you is any offence of abuse or violence, whether physical, psychological or
sexual, against adults, children or animals.

In short, if you have a history of toxic traits, you can’t join our dating site.

Who has access to my personal information?

We take your privacy and data security very seriously. Only Safer Date managers
and background check processing staff will have access to your information which
is fully protected and meets the GDPR guidelines.

What safety assurances do Safer Date provide?

Safer Date is designed to be a safer online dating platform. We carry out
identity checks and thorough, global background checks on every member before
they are allowed to join. We have strict entry criteria unlike most other dating
sites who will let anyone create a profile.

We can assure you that we will not allow ANY member to join our site if they
have a history of serious criminal offences or if they cannot be identified.
However, we cannot account for any crimes that have been spent, for any crimes a
member may have committed and not been caught for, for any crimes a person may
commit in the future or for any negative personality traits a person may have.
We can only use the information provided during the background checks at point

Our website is fully responsive and works seamlessly across all devices, but we
