CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION /CLE

Attorneys in most US states and territories are required to complete Continuing
Legal Education (CLE) on an ongoing basis to help them stay on top of new legal
developments.

Some state bars require attorneys to attend live events, while other states
allow completion of CLE requirements through self-study. Compliance cycles are
another area where states differ.

CLE HOURS

There are no existing nationwide CLE-hour requirements.

State authorities create the requirements for lawyers in their jurisdiction.
Thus, the rules vary from one state to another.

Checking out the requirements for the state where you’re practicing or planning
to practice helps you select the classes that you should take.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR STATE’S CLE RULES OR HOW TO BEST SATISFY
THEM, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US.
