jay dee rothmeyer is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter residing in the hills of
western Ma.

in 2012, after years of drumming in various styles of bands, he set out to amass
a collection of instruments, and begin work as a solo recording artist.

“i got my first four-track recording machine when i was fifteen.  what i do now
is just a natural extension of what i've been doing since then.  i play all of
the instruments on my albums and am always writing. a lot of the time a song
will begins by laying down an acoustic guitar part, i took a few years of
classical lessons at one point and it has definitely influenced the way i
approach the instrument.  the drums, vocals, samples, synths, and circuit-bent
instruments come later in the multi-tracking process.  with unlimited tracks and
a house full of musical devices, things can get quite deep." - j.d.r.

the live act consists of live looping renditions of the original recordings.
classical style and percussive guitar with layered melodies combined to create a
rich texture. synth, samples, harmonica, and various noise makers are used to
round the sound which could be described as psychedelic folk rock.
