GEORGIA HEART INSTITUTE IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE GEORGIA HEART & VASCULAR
SYMPOSIUM.

This two-day symposium will be held on-site at the beautiful Chateau Elan Winery
and Resort in Braselton, Georgia. The educational sessions will feature
nationally renowned leaders across all cardiovascular specialties speaking on
topics related to interventional cardiology, general cardiology, heart failure,
electrophysiology, prevention, women’s heart health, STEMI, cardiac surgery,
vascular surgery, and more. In addition to providing CME credits, the symposium
will also include debates, live cases, panel discussions, and simulation
exhibits. Physicians and APPs attending on-site will also have the option to
register for the gala held on Friday evening.

Medical Association of Georgia to provide continuing medical education for
physicians. Northeast Georgia Medical Center & Health System, Inc. designates
this live activity for a maximum of 13.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians
should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in
the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the
evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 13 MOC points in the
American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant
completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.





FACULTY

Course Director: Habib Samady, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Habib Samady, MD, is an interventional cardiologist and President of Georgia
Heart Institute. In his current role, Dr. Samady works with physicians,
administrators and frontline staff to oversee all clinical, educational,
research and administrative operations of the system’s Heart & Vascular Service
Line, which includes ensuring clinical quality, streamlining patient care and
advancing services. He guides a leading international clinical research program
and is extensively published with more than 400 publications and abstracts. He
is currently deputy editor of the world’s leading academic journal for
interventional cardiology, JACC Cardiovascular Interventions, and is co-editor
of a major textbook of interventional cardiology. Dr. Samady also serves as the
Director of the Georgia Cardiovascular Biomechanical, Imaging and Computational
Modeling Laboratory and is co-founder and of Covanos, a computational diagnostic
cardiovascular imaging start-up company.



Dr. Samady went to medical school at the University of Sheffield in England. He
performed residency at the University of Sheffield and the University of London.
He subsequently went onto complete his internal medicine residency and chief
residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington,
Connecticut. He then completed his fellowships in general cardiology, nuclear
cardiology and interventional cardiology at Yale University in New Haven,
Connecticut. He then served as a cardiologist on faculty at the University of
Virginia (1999-2003) and Eastern Virginia Medical School (2003-2005), before
joining Emory University in 2005. In 2009, he became Professor of Medicine, and
2011, Director of Interventional Cardiology at Emory and Director of the Cardiac
Catheterization Laboratory at Emory University Hospital. In January 2021, he
moved to his current role in Northeast Georgia Health System.
