   WHAT IS DEEP CRYOGENIC PROCESSING?
   
   Deep cryogenic tempering is a onetime process that permanently improves the
   performance and useful life of metals in everything from brakes, rotors and
   engine parts to machine tools and gun barrels.
   
   A precise, computer-controlled process slowly cools the metal to deep
   cryogenic temperatures (-186 degrees) and slowly returns it to room
   temperature. The computer reduces then warms the temperature by approximately
   1 degree every 8 minutes, eliminating the risk of thermal shock.
   
   Although not visible to the naked eye, the improvements to the metal are
   significant. Deep cryogenic tempering creates dramatic increases in abrasive
   wear resistance and durability, as well as an increase in tensile strength.
   Toughness and stability is coupled with the release of internal residual
   stresses.
   
   HOW DOES THE DEEP CRYOGENIC PROCESSING WORK?
   
   Vibration decreases horsepower and torque. Deep cryogenic processing
   significantly reduces or eliminates damaging high frequency and harmonic
   vibration in metal components.
   
   Deep cryogenic processing creates a large amount of fine or small carbides
   that precipitate uniformly throughout the lattice structure. This greatly
   improves the wear properties of metal. The process also completes the
   martensitic phase change which creates a metallurgically improves and
   stabilized alloy. Cryogenics treatment converts soft grain structure
   (austenite) into more uniform denser grain structure (martensite).
