It’s National Volunteer Week! Today we celebrate the accomplishments of Healthy
Kids of New Brunswick. This year, @ruhealthykidsnb focused on promoting healthy
lifestyles among the youth of New Brunswick, who are disproportionately
susceptible to preventable chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes, and
cardiovascular disease. Because developing balanced eating and exercise habits
from a young age is so valuable in leading a healthy life, the organization
members volunteer weekly at Lincoln Elementary School where they provide free
fitness workouts and nutrition lessons to the children throughout the year. In
the Fall, they also volunteered at the New Brunswick Community Farmers Market to
educate children about healthy eating. To learn more, check out
@ruhealthykidsnb. Congratulations on a great year of giving back!

It’s National Volunteer Week! Today we celebrate the accomplishments of Rutgers
Circle K International. This year, @rutgerscki created many homemade projects
including books, rain sticks, and painted rocks for patients at the Children's
Specialized Hospital, bandanas for a dog animal shelter, utensil kits for
Elijah's Promise, coloring pages for overseas troops and senior citizens,
journal covers for Kits to Heart, and origami cranes to Cranes for a Cure to
fund pediatric cancer research. Additionally, the organization held a fundraiser
and were able to donate to Circle K International's Brick x Brick initiative in
partnership with UNICEF, which is a project that repurposes plastic waste to
construct classrooms for the 1.6 million children who are out of school in Côte
d’Ivoire. They also participated in the Embrace Kids RU4Kids program and are
proud to be able to sponsor a patient family and raise money for this
foundation. To learn more, check out @rutgerscki. Congratulations on a great
year of giving back!

It’s National Volunteer Week! Today we celebrate the accomplishments of Glamour
Gals. This year, @glamourgalsru visited a local senior center and gave back
seniors their sense of self while making them feel beautiful and emphasizing the
importance of physical touch through nail painting. Additionally, they made
cards for the center during holidays, celebrated Galentine’s Day and hosted many
donation drives for Dina’s Dwellings. The organization is driven by a desire to
give back to our community and make a positive impact on the lives of a group
that is often neglected. Through volunteering, they have seen the way their
organization effortlessly provides members with new skills, valuable experience,
and a broadened perspective on life. To learn more, check out @glamourgalsru.
Congratulations on a great year of giving back!
