Through her main character, Elizabeth Bennet, the novelist showed for the first time what it meant to be an intelligent woman in a world governed by men. Unlike her sisters, Elizabeth is a young woman determined to marry for love and not in order to safeguard her financial future. Her path crosses with that of the arrogant Darcy and the two develop a special relationship, anchored in pride and in prejudice, but which will eventually lead to the discovery of true love. see first pages prev next ALL YOUR ISSUES * * 1st Issue: Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen * 2nd Issue: Wuthering Heights - Emily Brontë * 3rd Issue: Little Women - Louisa May Alcott * 4th Issue: Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë * 5th Issue: Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen * 6th Issue: The Age of Innocence - Edith Wharton * 7th Issue: Emma - Jane Austen * 8th Issue: Agnes Grey - Anne Brontë * 9th Issue: Persuasion - Jane Austen * 10th Issue: The Professor - Charlotte Brontë * 11th Issue: Mansfield Park - Jane Austen * 12th Issue: Good Wives - Louisa May Alcott * 13th Issue: The House of Mirth - Edith Wharton * 14th Issue: Far from the Madding Crowd - Thomas Hardy * 15th Issue: Northanger Abbey - Jane Austen * 16th Issue: The Scarlet Letter - Nathaniel Hawthorne * 17st Issue: Washington Square - Henry James * 18nd Issue: Villette - Charlotte Brontë * 19rd Issue: Lady Susan.
