VISION

We envision all Tribal veterans will have access to all benefits due to them
from the Veterans Administration, the Tulalip Tribes, and all entities which
provide such benefits.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide any assistance necessary for Tulalip veterans to
achieve our vision and to provide documentation to the administration, the Board
of Directors, and the people regarding our activities in the effort to serve our
veterans.

GOLD STAR MOTHERS

During World War One, families displayed a gold star in their window to honor a
son that had died in the war. As an enduring tribute to their sons, many mothers
banded together offering each other support and sympathy. They formed the Gold
Star Mothers organization in 1918 to help veteran families deal with their
grief.

Tulalip's chapter of the Gold Star Mothers began with the loss of two Tulalip
sons, Alphonsus Bob and Elson James. The grief faced by these mothers is
immeasurable and we honor the ultimate sacrifice made by their sons. The Tulalip
community has taken an active step in memorializing its Gold Star Mothers by
renaming streets and parks in their honor.
