The Los Angeles County School Trustees Association recognizes that our member
districts occupy land originally and still inhabited and cared for by the
Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, and Chumash Peoples. We honor and pay respect
to their elders and descendants ─ past, present, and emerging ─ as they continue
their stewardship of these lands and waters. We encourage our member districts
to take meaningful action in our shared responsibility and commitment to truth,
healing, and reconciliation and to elevating the stories, culture, and community
of the original inhabitants of Los Angeles County. We are grateful to have the
opportunity to live, learn, and work on these ancestral lands.

6.Artificial Intelligence: The State of AI in K-12 Public Education 6:30pm

While interest and investment in AI for education is rapidly growing, adoption
remains uneven as teacher fluency and access lag behind the hype. As this
powerful technology enters classrooms, ethics and responsible design are crucial
to ensure student data protections, mitigate bias, and promote equitable access
to AI resources. With careers of the future requiring AI skills, schools feel
urgency to integrate AI literacy into core competencies.
