Stanley Dam Menu * About * Projects * Contact STANLEY DAM GAMEDEVELOPER About me ABOUT ME Hey there! Welcome to my portfolio website, my name is Stanley Dam, I'm 21 years old and I make games! I have worked on many cool projects that you can find on this website. I have experience with both Unity and Unreal Engine. But I'm currently mainly use Unreal Engine for my projects. I'm currently working full-time as a programmer at SimCenMar (Simulation centre of the dutch royal navy) in Den Helder. Where I mainly work with C++ and Unreal's blueprinting system. UNREAL ENGINE Projects: 2 Since: 2021 (1 year) Currently the game engine I'm using the most. I have experience with both C++ and Unreal's blueprinting system. I really like using Unreal for it's easy networking system and the awesome out of the box graphics. Unreal's blueprinting system also allows for quick prototyping which is really nice. Projects where I used Unreal Engine: Cargo Chaos (WIP) and The Roy Game UNITY Projects: 5 Since: 2018 (4 years) Unity was my go-to game engine for a couple years, I've made both 2d and 3d games in Unity. Projects where I used Unity: Nachtkratzen, Klautergame, Project: Mooncheese, Unity destructibles and Poing! C# Projects: 5 Since: 2018 (4 years) Unity runs on C#, I've only been using C# for that reason so far. I'm very comfortable with C# at this point. Projects where I used C#: Nachtkratzen, Klautergame, Project: Mooncheese, Unity destructibles and Poing! NODEJS Projects: 3 Since: 2019 (3 years) I like to use NodeJS for stuff that doesn't need to be visual, it's easy and fast! I've used it for some multiplayer networking projects, I used NodeJS + SocketIO for the server side. This also makes server sided moding easier, since javascript is such an easy to learn language! Projects where I used NodeJS: Exacto Float, Nachtkratzen, Klautergame and Geobored JAVA Projects: 2 Since: 2016 (6 years) I got really into Java because of minecraft plugins. Java really introduced me to programming on a more profesional level. I had only used gamemakers: GML (GameMaker language) before Java. I've learned a lot from making minecraft plugins & games; databases, code optimization, game design and much more! These project are under a NDA with EenGameStad, I can't show any code snippets. Projects where I used Java: Exacto Float, Prison Escape & Feverdream CARGO CHAOS (WIP) Cargo Chaos is a PVP social deception game where 1 pirate & a mole play against a team of crewmates. The crewmates have to repair all the communication equipment on board to call in the evacuation helicopter. They will have to work together to do the repairs, but don't trust everyone blindly... Steam THE ROY GAME A game where puking zombies try to puke over your trashcans, you have to defend your trashcans by placing automatic puking robots. Meanwhile you have to attack the zombie-printing machines. Steam NACHTKRATZEN Nachtkratzen is a mulitplayer hide & seek game based around the german myth: Nachtkrabb. In this game you'll player either as a hiding child or as the nachtkrabb. There's only one nachtkrabb per match, the nachtkrabb has to find and catch all the children before the time runs out. The children have to do everything they can in order to stay alive: Run, hide, parkour and even build hiding spots! Learn more KLAUTERGAME A game where you climb up a wall using your body as a controller! The map generates from a real life wall using a QR to 3D vector system we made. We used networking to solve some performance issues wich is pretty cool. Learn more PROJECT: MOONCHEESE A game where you'll have to build for your life... Because for some reason you've decided to build your new colony on a moon made of cheese! What you didn't know was that cheese can spoil and that's dangerous for your buildings! You'll have to make cheese in order to expand away from this stinky mess underneath your feet... Learn more EXACTOFLOAT A website that allows you to find CS:GO trade up contracts that will result in a skin with a very specific float value. This was very challanging to make, a trade up requires 10 skins of a lower tier that need to have a very specific average float value. ExactoFloat.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY DESTRUCTIBLES A lag friendly destructible objects using Nvidia blast. This is a system I made for a game where almost everything has to be destructable, we needed a seemless and lag efficient system for this. Source code -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POING! My first mobile game that I actually released onto the app and google play store! It's a simple game where you have to keep the ball within the circle, the game also has a simple skin system. Trailer (NL) | Play store | App store -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRISON ESCAPE A minecraft server I made in 2017 that has been played by over a 55.000 unique (dutch & belgium) players, it's a game where you'll have to live a prison life with the ultimate goal of escaping! Showcase video (NL) | Gameplay (NL) | Camera system showcase -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEVERDREAM A unreleased minecraft server I developed where players have to survive in an apocalyptic world where a strange and deadly gas makes it hard to stay outside buildings for long. I made a fairly complex gas system for this game which I'm quite proud of! Toxic gas showcase video | Weapons showcase video -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COLONELY One of my first games I made with gamemaker back in 2016. I implemented the gamejolt API and used gamemaker's scripting language GML.
