FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens to my loved one once I call you?

From the time of receiving your call, Safewill Cremations will handle the
process from start to finish. Once everyone has had the chance to say goodbye we
will organise for pick up of your loved one, which normally occurs within two
hours of receiving your call (depending on where they passed away). Your loved
one is taken into our care and transported to our partner mortuary facility,
where they will receive respectful and dignified preparation ahead of the
cremation. Once the service has concluded, we will organise for hand delivery of
your loved one’s ashes to you. We will then be able to provide guidance on what
comes next, including grief resources and next steps for administering the
estate.

Where will my loved one be taken?

Once picked up, your loved one is taken into our care and transported to the
mortuary of our service provider. They will be treated with respect and care in
preparation for the cremation.

How long does the process take from collection until the ashes are returned?

We will endeavour to pick your loved one up within two hours of receiving your
call, depending on where they passed away. We generally advise that it usually
takes around 10 days until the ashes are delivered back to you. This can be
shorter or longer depending on how quickly the family is able to organise the
required documentation, and whether we need clearances from any applicable
authorities (including a hospital or nursing home, or the coroner).

Is a Safewill Cremation environmentally friendly?

Safewill Cremations uses environmentally friendly coffins, which are much
greener than traditional coffins or burials. They are typically constructed
using between 70-95% recycled materials, and when used in a cremation service
they emit approximately 90% less carbon emissions than traditional caskets.
