PANN SEASONAL QUEST & SHOP
 
The tree of many branches withdraws its roots, to reveal a familiar grove.

 * Speak to Cro in the Grove to begin the seasonal quest "An Unfamiliar Path"
 * There are 3 quests in total, to be unlocked in succession.
 * The repeatable quest can be completed 5 times a day, allowing for progression
   and accumulation of currency.
 * The Grove Goods Shop is stocked with Pann's items and will be open all month,
   taking Grove Treasure as currency!
 * Other than quests, Grove Treasure can also be obtained through Random
   Encounters, Adventuring, and Turnip Thief.
 * Clue - Take note of who you travel with, what paths you take, and at what
   time you take them.

Now that the Kelbi event is underway and that segment of work is complete, here

EVENTUAL EVENT PLANS
Although we're currently going to be focusing on permanent content and feature
updates in order to better balance the base game, we'll eventually return with
more events in various formats. In the meantime during these next few months,
we're planning to still hold various contests and giveaways for those who enjoy
participating!

STAFF RECRUITMENT STATUS
We're finalizing emails to be sent out as soon as we can this month to our new
team members. Apologies for the delay on this, we intended to get emails out
earlier but with how busy event prep was and other circumstances we felt that it
would be better to wait until we can give our full attention to training the new
recruits. Thank you for your patience!

MERCHANDISE PLANS
You may have noticed that we were leisurely designing some potential merch on
development streams, we're currently long term planning some exciting Dappervolk
themed merch and may be holding some polls in the future before committing to
designs, stay tuned!

We've also gotten in contact with Makeship - a pledge-based plushie making site
and are planning out a potential future campaign. If all goes well, a Turnipling
plushie could exist in the future!

KELBI'S FESTIVAL BEGINS!


  

  

Dreams of spring everlasting, a sleeping deity, and a clatter.
The Spiralwood - A sprawling forest clearing full of old knotted trees and
dry brambles slowly sprouts with new growth and stubborn green.

Signs of life and good humour inhabit every corner.
What manner of adventure will meet your curiosity in this place?


The festival will be fully active for 3 weeks from:
SEPTEMBER 20TH 3AM DVT to
OCTOBER 11TH 11:59PM DVT
The Event Quests, Shop and site mechanics will remain open until October 18th,
11:59PM DVT

Welcome to Dappervolk's first Kelbi Festival!
We're so excited for everyone to experience the updated co-op event and learn
about Kelbi's story!


DREAM OF THE SPIRALWOOD

 * Visit the Spiralwood Dream to begin tracking for activities and become a
   participant!
 * This is a Cooperative Community Event in which all participants can donate to
   reach collective community milestone rewards.
 * Milestone prizes can be claimed by all participants regardless of
   contribution level once the prize is unlocked.
 * There are also Individual Prize Tiers for dedicated participants.
 * Collect Daily Rewards for donating and sending offerings!
 * With the Kelbi Festival comes pet blessings, where participants can make
   offerings to other users' pets for rewards.
   




WHAT ARE PET BLESSINGS?

 * During the Spiralwood Dream, participant pets can be blessed by other users
   with offerings.
 * Depending on which offering you pick, the target pet may gain a new friend
   for the festival's duration.
 * Once a pet is fully blessed, its owner can collect its many fortunes for
   rewards.
   



 * Lula's Festival Booth shop opens on the second day of the event on September
   21st 12AM DVT
 * The shop will be open until October 18th, 11:59PM DVT
 * Shop stock will include all Kelbi Deity clothing, Seasonal Spring Clothing, 2
   new pet hatch shards, totems, and more!
 * All shop items should be affordable if you unlock your personal tier prizes
   at the Spiralwood Dream and complete all 3 spring quests in the Spiralwood.

Winding Shells are the currency for the Kelbi Event Shop - Lula's Festival Booth

The Spiralwood! Go to the World Map and find it just east of Aviar Cove.

 * "Festival of the Slumbering Snail" is a daily repeatable quest which can be
   completed 4 times per day.

throughout the event!

judging, and prizes will be distributed in time for all currency to be spent.



Another Custom Maker Giveaway is now live!
Entries will close on October 18th, 11:59PM DVT

 * There are two Custom Maker grand prizes, type chosen by the winners.
 * One can be won through entering on the site thread and another through
   sharing on social media.
 * There are additional participation and runner up prizes for all entrants!
 * Only first time custom maker owners are eligible to win the grand prizes this
   time, though anyone can participate for the other prizes!
 * The winners will be announced on site once the giveaway concludes and winners

THE SPIRAL SHELL IS UNFURLING...


A strange slumbering lingers on the land, clinging to the chill and damp.
A raucous must be made to revive spirits and lift hearts!

KELBI'S FESTIVAL BEGINS...
SEPTEMBER 19TH 12AM DVT
The event will be active for 3 weeks, ending on October 10th, 2023
Any extensions will be announced as the event progresses.


UPCOMING EVENT INFO
Here are some details on the upcoming Festival!


 * A series of community milestone prizes will be unlockable by the community's
   collective efforts.
 * Milestone prizes can be claimed by all participants regardless of
   contribution level once the prize is unlocked.
 * There will also be individual prize tiers for dedicated participants.
 * A randomized daily reward has been added for participants donating or
   interacting with pets a certain amount of times.
 * The community milestones can be reached by collective donation of a certain
   currency item which will be rewarded through event mechanics.
 * All tasks in the event will be tracked passively after visiting the event
   page for the first time, garnering donation currency as well as points
   towards individual prizes.
 * There will be a pet interaction mechanic which generates rewards and evolving
   images on participating pets.
 * Since the last iteration of this event type, we've taken into account
   feedback and made some adjustments to the UI to make it easier to understand
   and navigate.
   



SEASONAL MAP ♦ NEW NPC ♦ QUEST STORYLINE ♦ EVENT SHOP

 * There will be a new seasonal mini town available to be visited during the
   event!
 * A new seasonal NPC also inhabits this area, with a set of event quests which
   can be completed for seasonal currency.
 * The new seasonal town along with its NPC will disappear once the event ends,
   to return annually as a seasonal quest.
 * An event shop will become accessible on the second day of the event on
   September 20th at 12AM DVT, stocked with all seasonal items for Kelbi and
   spring.
 * Event currency will be earned through the Co-op Event, Seasonal Event Quests,
   and various site mechanics.
   




There will be an Avatar Contest and a Creativity Prompt Contest held during the
event!

We'll also be holding another Custom Giveaway throughout the event!

With the arrival of the Autumn season, a new Seasonal Pet has appeared!

 * The ingredients to make the hatching item can be found in Pai, Agnes, and
   Oran's shops' Bonus Prize pools.
 * The item alchemy recipe is available in your recipe book and shown above.
 * This Seasonal Pet will remain in the shops for 3 months and rotate out at the
   end of November to be replaced by a pet for the next season.
 * Seasonal pets are obtainable annually on a rotation! The hatching items can
   be alchemized at any time of the year.
   



2022 Autumn Shard Pets
The Autumn Shards from 2022 have returned to Pai and Agnes' Shops this year at a
flat rate of 500 turnips, and Oran's Bonus Claim. Alchemize 3 Autumn Seed + 1
Autumn Soil + a Mixer Potion to create the Autumn Fruit hatching item!


2021 Autumn Shard Pets
The Autumn Shards from 2021 have returned to Pai and Agnes' Shops this year at a
flat rate of 500 turnips, and Oran's Bonus Claim. Alchemize all 4 Shards + a
Mixer Potion to create the Autumn Stone hatching item!

STAFF HIRING STATUS
We're planning to send out email responses to promising applicants within the
next week or two in order to begin the onboarding process. Thank you for your
patience!

AVIAR COVE BALANCING UPDATE
The planned Aviar Cove balancing update will come with an additional sizeable
potato sink content drop as well to help offset inflation! Here is our current
progress on it:
Art Assets: 50%
Quest Adjustments: 25%
Inputting/Testing: 10%

FUTURE CONTENT/EVENT PLANS
We've taken a look at our current set of goals and after a good deal of
discussion, here are our plans in regards to upcoming events and content drops!

For the next few months, we're going to focus more on upcoming permanent content
updates such as balancing updates, potato sinks, and new permanent content in
order to bring the base game to the state that we want it to be.

We realized that over time, large scale events had become more and more
elaborate as our ambition for the creative side of things grew, thus requiring
more assets, writing, and overall time spent preparing each event. While it was
a great deal of fun and we're proud of our community and progress, we've
realized that the time spent preparing events consumes too much of our work
schedule and we want to rework how we approach future events.

The remaining deity events will still happen at some point, but first we're
going to spend some efforts to update the game with more permanent content. We'd
also eventually like to hold some more large scale events that introduce new
permanent content like we did with the Witches' War previously. Thanks for
reading our thoughts and decisions on this aspect of Dappervolk's development!

TRADES MARKET UPDATES
We're now working on designing the Trades Market revamp, Pet Accessory market,
and Customs market with focus on player feedback and ease of use. We're working
on all three at the same time since all three will use a similar trades market
system.

This will take some time to launch but we think it will improve the game
experience greatly as well as make it much easier for users to get into things
like pet accessories and customs trading. The trades market revamp will allow
for much easier trade listing as well as system adjustments that fit our
community's needs better.

KELBI EVENT STATUS
While our overall progress was delayed due to some IRL weather events impacting
part of our team during July, we did still make some background progress on our
upcoming updates. Our current progress on the Kelbi event is the following: 
Art Assets: 80%
Writing: 95%
Coding: 100%
We'll be working hard towards announcing this event's start date some time this
month, thank you for understanding!

STAFF HIRING STATUS
We're currently in the process of going through all applications and making our
selections. No replies have been sent out yet as we'd like to send them out all
at once in order to keep our new recruits on the same page.

AVIAR COVE BALANCING PLANS
Our team is working hard on the upcoming Aviar Cove balancing update as well,
which we'll have more info on once we're ready. We have also been preparing
content to be added to an upcoming potato sink to be released with future
balancing updates to help offset inflation.

DAPPERVOLK IS RECRUITING!


Hi everyone, as we've been planning, we're now going to be looking for both
Junior Moderators to bolster our current team as well as a new team of Community
Managers who will be responsible for community related communication as well as
forum events and contest management! 

We're hoping to expand and bring our current staff together further to create a
closer team environment to develop Dappervolk together.

We will be keeping applications open for the next few weeks or until we get a
good collection of applications. Thank you very much for applying if you do so!





JUNIOR MODERATOR DUTIES

 * Helping and guiding users on the forums (answering questions in the help
   forum, bug forums etc)
 * Keeping the site clean and organized
 * Keep track of bug reports for admins
 * Helping to discover and address misconduct
 * Handle general forum and query related user tickets
   


IDEAL SKILL SET

 * Detail oriented
 * Available for a few hours each week according to your availability/timezone

KELBI EVENT PROGRESS
Here's a peek at our current progress on the upcoming Kelbi event: 
Art Assets: 75%
Writing: 80%
Coding: 100%
News on this event's launch is coming after mid month!

STAFF RECRUITMENT PLANS
We're doing final preparations and will be posting our staff recruitment
information early this month! We had originally planned to post it later in
June, but shuffled things around to allow for smooth event updates.

AVIAR COVE BALANCING
We'll be embarking on artwork and quest updates for Aviar Cove balancing this
month, and are aiming to release it in the next month or two. We're also going
to plan out some potato sink content drops in order to combat the inflation that
will be caused by additional town balancing.

ROADMAP UPDATES
After our current event plans and other priorities are complete, we'll be
updating our Roadmap thread and moving certain plans up in priority to focus on
them next!
