BASICS

 * Your queries are split into terms and phrases, fields and operators
    * Term: Single word, e.g. internet
    * Phrase: If your query consists of several terms or terms separated by
      hyphens, they must be enclosed in quotation marks: "Internet of Things";
      "Start-up"
    * Fields: Areas you are scanning: Title, Abstract, Description, Tags (by
      default all of them will be scanned)

 * Search terms are not case sensitive: "ITONICS"="Itonics"="itonics"
 * Operators are case sensitive: OR not or

LINKING SEARCH TERMS

 * Widen results: OR
    * eco OR green
    * Find items that contain either of the words "eco" or "green"

 * Narrow results: AND
    * eco AND green
    * eco “green energy”
    * Finds only items that contain both words

 * Exclude terms: NOT
    * eco NOT green
    * Finds items that contain “eco” but not "green"

MODIFY SEARCH TERMS

FILTER TYPES

 * General Filters: All filters that can be applied to all elements (e.g.
   Status, Created By, ...). General filters are marked as "General Filters" in
   the active filter section.
 * Entity type specific filters: Filters can only be applied to specific entity
   types. Entity type specific filters are marked with the entity name and the
   entity color in the active filter section.

FILTER LOGIC BASICS

 * General Filters: The selected filter(s) apply to all elements.
 * Entity type specific filters: The selected filter(s) apply only to items of
   the specific entity types.

 * EXAMPLE FILTER QUERY:
   
   * Technology filter (Type = Technology AND Technology Segment = ICT AND
     Business Unit = IT)

 * RESULT:
   
   * All technology elements that are in the technology segment "ICT" AND belong
     to the business unit "IT" are displayed.

FILTER LOGIC COMBINATIONS

 * It is possible to combine general filters with multiple entity type specific
   filters. General filters apply to all elements, entity type specific filters
   apply only to the specific entity:

 * EXAMPLE FILTER QUERY:
   
   * General Filters: (Status = Published AND Rating = Unrated)
   * Technology filter: (Type: technology AND technology segment = ICT AND
     business unit = IT)
   * Company filter: (Type = Company AND year founded = 2020)

 * RESULT:
   
   * All published and unrated technology elements in the technology segment
     "ICT" AND belonging to the business unit "IT" are displayed.
   * All published and unrated company elements founded in "2020" are displayed.
