RAND 2. >2022 DoD Employer Experiences Survey 2022 DOD EMPLOYER EXPERIENCES SURVEY Civilian employers and supervisors of U.S. Air Force reservists prepare for a flight on a C-130 Hercules during the 302nd Airlift Wing Employer Appreciation Day at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Photo by Stephen J. Collier/U.S. Air Force National Guard and Reserve personnel are citizen-warriors who protect the nation through their military service while maintaining civilian employment as well. The Department of Defense asked RAND to update and extend its 2013 study on the civilian employment of these important personnel, and as part of that effort, RAND is working with its partner NORC to survey over 25,000 employers across the country. In addition, the RAND team is conducting telephone interviews with 100 employers of National Guard and Reserve personnel. HOW TO PARTICIPATE Employers were selected for participation on a random basis within specified categories including private businesses of varying sizes, public agencies, and organizations identified as likely employers of National Guard and Reserve members. Those selected received a survey invitation by mail and/or email from the RAND Corporation via our partner organization, NORC. The invitation included a letter of support from the Department of Defense (DoD) and a fact sheet. If you are experiencing technical difficulties with the survey (e.g., cannot locate your credentials, credentials are not working), please contact our partner organization NORC at dodemployerexperiencessurvey@norc.org MORE INFORMATION More information about the survey is available on the DoD Employer Experiences Survey webpage hosted by our partner, NORC. The Factsheet contains basic details about the study, including the interview topics and how the information provided will be safeguarded. For Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, please access the DoD Factsheet. SPONSOR AND CONTACT These interviews are being conducted for the Office of the Secretary of Defense by the RAND Corporation and has received both approvals for DoD internal information collection and public information collection. The Office of Management and Budget control number for the public information collection is 0704-0618, expiration date 10/31/24. The DoD Report Control Symbol (RCS) for the DoD portion of this effort is DD-P&R-2713.
