It includes 15 proposed stadiums across 5 diverse host cities; a combination of 4 existing stadiums, 3 under construction and 8 planned new builds. They are all designed to meet Saudi Arabia’s long-term infrastructure needs. Our 5 host cities will have 2 proposed FIFA Fan Festival™ Sites, while our 10 other host locations are proposed to support team base camps. PROPOSED RIYADH STADIUMS Saudi Arabia’s dynamic and thriving capital city, and its largest by both size and population. * STADIUMS * FIFA FAN FESTIVAL™ SITES 01 KING SALMAN INTERNATIONAL STADIUM This spectacular new stadium will have the highest capacity in Saudi Arabia, and become a major center for sports and home to the national team. Host of the opening and final matches, the stadium and its precinct will anchor the Green Riyadh development’s masterplan, contributing to the city’s ongoing transformation. CAPACITY 92,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Opening, Group Stage, Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarter-final, Semi-final & Final 02 KING FAHAD SPORTS CITY STADIUM This existing stadium is one of the most iconic venues in the region, with a distinctive fabric roof inspired by traditional tents. It is located near attractions such as the planned Sports Boulevard that will provide community access to green spaces. The refurbishment will significantly increase capacity and enable uses from football matches to concerts. CAPACITY 70,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage, Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarter-final & Semi-final 03 PRINCE MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN STADIUM This new stadium will be located in the Qiddiya development, its design offering spectacular views out towards the Tuwaiq cliffs. The stadium’s materials, including iridescent glass and shimmering metal, contribute to a futuristic aesthetic. CAPACITY 46,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage, Round of 32, Round of 16 & 3rd place playoff 04 NEW MURABBA STADIUM The distinctive design of this new stadium replicates the overlapping planes and texture of the bark of the native Acacia tree. The stadium will integrate the latest venue technology, creating an exceptional, personalized fan experience. CAPACITY 46,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage & Round of 32 05 ROSHN STADIUM This new stadium is designed as a dynamic part of the urban fabric, with a different look to a typical sports venue. It will sit in a central plaza surrounded by the bowl’s ‘crystalline’ structure, a delicate latticework that will glow in the night sky. CAPACITY 46,000 PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage & Round of 32 06 PRINCE FAISAL BIN FAHAD SPORTS CITY STADIUM This will be a new multi-purpose sports facility in Riyadh. Its design draws inspiration from the “culturally contextualized modernism” principles of Salmani architecture. The stadium will be part of a wider park site master plan. It will sit at the heart of a vibrant community facility that will provide locals with a combination of community sports facilities and green spaces. CAPACITY 46,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage & Round of 32 07 SOUTH RIYADH STADIUM The stunning design of this new stadium is inspired by the “culturally contextualized modernism” principles of Salmani architecture. CAPACITY 47,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage & Round of 32 08 KING SAUD UNIVERSITY STADIUM This existing stadium is next to the vibrant U Walk – a King Saud University mixed-use development. CAPACITY 46,000+ PROPOSED STAGES OF COMPETITION Group Stage & Round of 32 01 QIDDIYA LARGE FESTIVAL GROUNDS Qiddiya Large Festival Grounds will be a unique outdoor venue beneath the stunning ancient cliffs of Qiddiya. 02 KING SALMAN PARK King Salman Park will be the largest urban park in the world. It will add significant green space to the capital city as part of the aim to make Riyadh one of the world’s most livable cities. PROPOSED JEDDAH STADIUMS The second largest city in Saudi Arabia. Close to the historic Al Balad district, the park will blend modern amenities with a deep respect for Jeddah’s heritage. 02 JEDDAH WATERFRONT Jeddah Waterfront is one of the city’s most vibrant destinations and has previously hosted the Formula 1® Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2022. Its linear park features beaches and green spaces. Saudi Arabia was announced as host nation of the FIFA World Cup 2034™ on December 11th, 2024. WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED HOST CITIES? Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha and NEOM. They will also be supported by other host locations, that will mainly home to Team base camps – AlUla, AlMadinah, Al Baha, Tabuk, Hail, Umluj, Buraidah, Taif, Jazan, Al Ahsa. HOW MANY STADIUMS ARE PROPOSED? Our proposed 15 world-class stadiums are across 5 host cities. They include a combination of existing stadiums’ refurbishment (4), new stadiums under construction (3) and planned new builds (8). WILL THERE BE LOCATIONS FOR FANS TO CELEBRATE OUTSIDE STADIUMS?
