DIE HERAUSFORDERUNG

Kohle wird derzeit in 41 Regionen in 12 EU-Ländern abgebaut. Sie ist damit der
am häufigsten vorkommende fossile Brennstoff in der EU und bedeutend für die
wirtschaftliche Aktivität. Der Übergang zu einer emissionsarmen Wirtschaft
bringt erhebliche technologische, wirtschaftliche und soziale Herausforderungen
mit sich, insbesondere für die Bergbauregionen, die sich aufgrund
marktorientierter Trends und umweltpolitischer Maßnahmen auf die Reduzierung
oder den Ausstieg aus der Kohle vorbereiten müssen.



 

TRACER unterstützt neun Kohlebergbauregionen in Europa bei der Konzeption (oder
Neugestaltung) ihrer Forschungs- und Innovationsstrategien (F & I), um den
Übergang zu einem nachhaltigen Energiesystem zu erleichtern.





DIE REGIONEN

Die Projektaktivitäten konzentrieren sich auf neun europäische Regionen mit
einer langen Historie im Kohlebergbau und der Verwendung von Kohle als
Brennstoff für die Strom- und Wärmeerzeugung.

DIE PROJEKTZIELE

TRACER unterstützt neun Kohlebergbauregionen in Europa bei der Konzeption (oder
Neugestaltung) ihrer Forschungs- und Innovationsstrategien (F & I), um den
Übergang zu einem nachhaltigen Energiesystem zu erleichtern.

Kernaktivitäten umfassen:

 * * Mobilisierung einer Vielzahl von Interessengruppen, um eine gemeinsame
     Vision und Prioritäten für den Übergang zur Kohle zu diskutieren und zu
     vereinbaren
   * Identifizierung und Analyse von Best-Practice-Beispielen für erfolgreiche
     und ehrgeizige Übergangsprozesse
   * Bewertung der sozialen, ökologischen und technologischen Herausforderungen
   * Ausarbeitung von Richtlinien zur Mobilisierung von Investitionen
   * Förderung der F&I-Zusammenarbeit zwischen Kohlebergbauregionen in Europa
     und darüber hinaus
