The Department of Economics of the University of Macedonia organizes the 9th
International Conference on Applied Theory, Macro and Empirical Finance (AMEF),
which will be held at the Department of Economics, University of Macedonia,
Thessaloniki, Greece. AMEF aims to bring together academics, professionals,
researchers, young scholars, post-doctoral researchers and PhD students that are
working in the broad areas of Economics and Finance to facilitate networking,
foster collaborations, and promote the exchange of knowledge.

Since 2015, AMEF has been honored to host the following esteemed keynote
speakers: Karim Abadir (Imperial College, UK), George Deltas (University of
Illinois, USA), Harris Dellas (University of Surrey, UK), Oded Galor (Brown
University, USA), Stephen G. Hall (University of Leicester, UK), Gikas
Hardouvelis (University of Piraeus, Greece), Simon Johnson (MIT Sloan School of
Management, USA), Mark Koyama (George Mason University, USA), Brian Lucey
(Trinity Business School, Ireland), Peter McAdam (Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas
City, USA), Evi Pappa (European University Institute, Italy), Elias Papaioannou
(London Business School, UK), Luigi Pascali (Pompeu Fabra University, Spain),
Thanasis Stengos (University of Guelph, Canada), Konstantinos Theodoridis
(Cardiff Business School, UK), Elias Tzavalis (Athens University of Economics
and Business, Greece), Anastasios Xepapadeas (Athens University of Economics and
Business, Greece).

Since 2015, selected papers presented at the AMEF conferences have been
published in Special Issues of the following peer-reviewed journals: The
Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Applied Economics Quarterly, Review
of Economic Analysis, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Journal of Economics and
Finance, Economic Change and Restructuring, Economics and Business Letters,
Credit and Capital Markets and South-Eastern Europe Journal of Economics.
