PAYMENT AND RECEIVING CREDITS

HOW MUCH DOES EACH COURSE COST?

For most courses, there is a $5.00 fee per two-hour course to receive
professional development hours. You will be directed to a credit card payment
screen prior to taking the assessment. You must have a credit card to complete
the course for professional development credit using the On Demand system.

CAN I PAY FOR MORE THAN ONE ON DEMAND COURSE AT A TIME?

Yes, BKC On Demand has an option to prepay for multiple courses for you and/or
your staff. See Course Prepayment for details and steps for purchasing course
prepayment codes.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO GET MY COMPLETED CERTIFICATE BY EMAIL?

You should receive an email within 24 hours of your request or completion of a
course. If not, please check your spam, junk, or quarantine folder before
contacting the BKC office.

To obtain a certificate copy, log in to your Better Kid Care On Demand account.
Navigate to “My Completed Courses.” A list of your completed courses will
appear. Click on the course title that you need a certificate for, and then
choose “Email Certificate” and a copy of the certificate will be emailed.

I AM SEEING A BLANK PAGE AFTER I PUT MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IN, WHAT DO I
DO?

If your screen goes blank after entering your credit card information to pay for
a course, the problem lies with your internet browser. Your transaction was not
processed and your card was not charged. Close the window and open the course in
a new internet browser (we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome
or Mozilla Firefox), and try again.

ARE CEUS AVAILABLE FOR COMPLETING ON DEMAND COURSES?

Yes! Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for completing Better Kid
Care On Demand courses. At least 5 hours of courses must be completed to request
a certificate, worth .5 CEUs. One (1.0) CEU can be earned and requested after
completing 10 hours of courses.

For more details and how to request CEUs from Better Kid Care see Continuing
Education Units (CEUs).

DISCUSSION FORUMS

WHAT ARE THE DISCUSSION FORUMS?

Better Kid Care's discussion forum feature is available to participants who have
completed any course in our online On Demand system. The discussion forum
provides a way to interact with an early childhood or youth development
instructor, discuss application to your own early care and education or
school-age setting, reflect on what was learned, read comments and ideas from
other providers, and respond to those ideas.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN A DISCUSSION FORUM?

To participate in the forum for a completed course, select the Discussion Forum
link from the course information screen for that specific course. The discussion
forum associated with that course becomes available. Just click on the button to
enter the forum. After a user participates with at least three discussion posts
and/or responses to other participants' posts, the certificate of completion for
that specific course will note "Participated in Discussion Forum"; however, no
additional professional development hours will be credited for participation.

WHAT DISCUSSION FORUMS ARE AVAILABLE?

After a course is completed, the user selects the Discussion Forum button to
enter the forum associated with the completed course. All Better Kid Care On
Demand courses are associated with one of the following nine discussion forums.
To see what course are linked to each forum, select Discussion Forum from the On
Demand menu.

 * Child Growth and Development
 * Child Assessment
 * Communication
 * Health, Safety and Nutrition
 * Behavior Management
 * The Environment and Curriculum
 * Program Organization and Administration
 * Professionalism and Leadership
 * Families in Society

WHY CAN'T I POST A COMMENT TO A DISCUSSION FORUM?

To participate in a discussion forum you must first complete a course. There is
a letter "C" in the far right column on the course list to designate that you
completed the course.
