COVID-19 Resource Guide for the Columbia Community

COVID-19 RESOURCE GUIDE

Please Wear Surgical Masks in Indoor University Settings

NEW WINTER HEALTH GUIDANCE

Faculty and staff can now upload proof of their required booster dosing of the
COVID-19 vaccine by going to the Upload Your Vaccination Documentation page and
scrolling down to the new "Booster Information" section. Students should use the
usual process for uploading their required booster documentation. The deadline
to upload documentation of COVID-19 booster has been deferred to the end of May
2022.

Effective January 18, cloth masks will not be acceptable protection in indoor
Columbia University settings. All Columbia affiliates must wear surgical masks
at all times in indoor settings in Columbia facilities, regardless of
vaccination status. (Some individuals may choose to wear other mask types such
as KN95 or KF94. N95 masks are required for specific clinical patient-facing
settings.) We strongly encourage masking outdoors in large gatherings.
Unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks both indoors and outdoors.

AT-A-GLANCE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

For additional details, please refer to the most recent University Updates.

BREAKING NEWS: COVID-19 BOOSTER MANDATE DEADLINE DEFERRED TO END OF MAY 2022

PERMITTED

 * Academic, research, and administrative gatherings are allowed with no
   capacity restrictions.
 * Social gatherings are allowed with no capacity restrictions.
 * Eating/drinking onsite (indoors or outdoors) is allowed at gatherings with
minimal removal of masks. Masks may only be removed to eat or drink. Please
put masks back on between bites and sips. (Eating in classrooms is generally
   not encouraged).
 * Visitors are permitted and are required to follow the visitor policy. They
also must have proof of vaccination and a booster as well as complete the
attestation form prior to accessing a Columbia facility. Individual schools
or departments are expected to ensure vaccine/booster compliance when such
visitors are invited, and prior to visiting a Columbia facility.
 * Faculty, instructional staff, and students providing instruction may teach
without a face covering, but must maintain six feet of distance from the
nearest person and must then wear a face covering upon completion of
   classroom instruction.

CONTINUED RESTRICTIONS

 * Eating in classrooms is generally not encouraged.
 * Masking indoors at Columbia is required and continues through March 31. Cloth
masks are not an acceptable option, and we strongly recommend wearing masks
   outdoors when in crowded settings.
 * Red passes will be applied to all those who are not compliant with the
   Gateway Testing requirement.
 * Daily attestation is required.
