Consulting Exit Opportunities

Four months ago, I was contacted about a role I wasn't interested in and ghosted
the company recruiter after our conversation. I know I shouldn't have done that,
so what should I do if I want to apply to the role now since they're still
hiring? Should I contact the recruiter directly or apply online? I'll be forced
to speak to him again and have no good reason for ghosting him

    Lie and give a reason for not speaking to him and frame it as wanting to
    reconnect now that your life emergency is settled

    Contact them directly and tell them at that point you were not interested.
    Now you are because of whatever reason. Keep it simple and straight vs
    trying to manufacture an excuse Ignoring him will only mess up your chances
    and gets you nothing . Talking to him at least gives you a shot.

    Recruiters talk to hundreds of candidates a week. They aren't going to be
    sad about you ghosting them. If they remember you at all. Just say you are
    circling back because you are still interested.

    Don't feel too bad about it it's the nature of the game when it comes to
    recruitment and applications on both sides. I don't know why you need even a
    reason, you can just sound happy to connect with them over this opportunity
    and say, at most, that you're interested in this position.

    Depends how hard the role is to fill, you will be put to the back of the
    list, but if it's a short list then you'll be fine.
