WALKING SYSTEMS OVERVIEW

Walking systems, or "walkers" are machines that move very large loads, very
precisely, in any direction. Walking draglines were some of the earliest
machines to utilize walking systems to allow the enormous machines to move.
Walkers go through a basic cycle similar to how a person walks.

The walker operator controls hydraulic valves that control the operation of the
walking machine. Entro Walking Systems use hydraulic jacks, travel cylinders,
and roller chain load skates on a steel foot to move exceptionally large loads
one step at a time. First you move the feet in the direction that you want to
travel. Then you actuate the lift cylinders to lift the load up onto the feet.
After lifting the load onto the walking feet, you actuate the travel mechanism
to move forward on top of the feet. When you reach the end of the foot, you stop
the travel mechanism, and then lower the jacks to set down the load and lift the
lift feet up off of the ground. Once the feet are unloaded again, the travel
mechanism is used to move the feet forward for another step to repeat the cycle.

to well in excess of 12 million pounds.

WALKING MACHINERY

The walking machinery is the heart of the system and includes all of the moving
parts, from the jack down to the foot. Different types of walking machinery are

X-SWING WALKING FOOT

Boasting a doubled walking speed from its extra stroke, while maintaining the
wide array of rig mounting options of its proven counterpart, the X-Swing is our

COMPACJAC WALKING FOOT

Pushing the limits of compact design, the CompacJac still matches its bigger
siblings in capability. Despite its size, it employs a 24” travel stroke, travel
in ANY DIRECTION, spin mode, 12” lift stroke, and our standard

SUPER STOMPER WALKING FOOT

Entro King-Pin walkers are currently in use in drilling rigs throughout the
world. The Super Stomper is the next evolution of the design. Multiple jack
cylinders operate over a single large walking foot. MORE


RECIPROCATING STOMPER WALKING FOOT

Entro's designs mitigate potential overloads on the machinery that has caused
similar machinery by other manufacturers to fail prematurely. MORE

KING-PIN WALKING FOOT

Uniquely suited to rigs where conventional walking feet do not perform well. The
patented design allows a large sized foot to be placed in confined areas while
still allowing the rig to move in ANY DIRECTION. MORE


SUPER-X WALKING FOOT

Pushing the envelope of walking system technology, the Super-X Walking Foot
combines Entro's patented X-Swing mechanism with their Super-Stomper walking
foot to produce a walking system that's suited for the most demanding jobs in

SIDEKICK WALKING FOOT

Smaller capacity walkers designed to move smaller loads that are still too heavy
to move without specialized machines. Mud tanks, support building and pipe
machines can all be mobilized efficiently. MORE


AUTOWALK AND AUTOLIFT

The optional Autowalk and Autolift systems allows a single operator to steer all
of the walking feet with a wireless remote control. This eliminates the need for
personnel to manually steer the walking feet, improving safety and efficiency.

WALKING SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS

The machinery can be mounted in different structural configurations. Typically,
Entro walking machinery is configured to either pin onto a structure, or is
permanently mounted into a structural frame that supports the load to be moved.
The support frames and attachments vary depending upon the
customers' structures.

PIN-ON WALKERS

Designed to fit virtually any land drilling rig substructure. They are primarily
suited to moving a substructure with umbilical connections back to the rig

PONY-SUB WALKERS

Designed to efficiently mobilize land-based, box-on-box drilling rigs for
hole-to-hole moves. The Entro system fits large walking feet into existing sub
designs and still maintains the ability to move in ANY DIRECTION. MORE

LOW PRO WALKERS

Designed to be used with single piece substructures with below grade well
completions. These Low Pro Walkers allow the drilling contractor to move not
only a substructure with full setback, but also the water tank and mud tanks as

STRONGBACK WALKERS

Designed to be used with single piece substructures with above ground
completions. The StrongBack allows the substructure to walk with full set back
and the water and mud tanks with fluids in the tanks. MORE
