SUPPORTING Donations stay local to fund critical treatments, healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Learn more about this hospital * My Story * Donations Hi there!Welcome to my fundraising page!!! This is my first year participating in Indiana University Dance Marathon and I am beyond excited. At the beginning of second semester I was searching for a club or activity that felt like a place where I belonged and IUDM was just that. Getting the emails and texts that I was placed onto the Logistics committee was an incredible feeling because I knew that I could be making a difference and really help people through IUDM. The feeling of belonging only continued when we had our first team meeting as a committee. The people on this committee are some of the most entertaining, kind, and inspiring people I have ever met. I can not wait to continue changing lives this year with my fellow Loggers! Ls Up! š¢ Why I dance Ā Ā Ā Helping others has always been something that I have tried to do in life. Back at home, I was involved with my local humane society and continuously volunteered with the Misericordia Heart of Mercy which is an incredible organization that provides living arrangements to adults with a variety of physical and mental disabilities. That being said, when coming to IU I knew that I wanted to look for something to get involved with where I could make a difference and IUDM is exactly this. Hearing the stories of Riley kids whose lives have been changed through the donations raised through IUDM really touched my heart and I immediately knew I wanted to help out any way possible. I hope you can help me in this mission to help the Riley community by donating to this amazing cause.Ā My Committee: Logistics!!!!! Ā Ā Ā The Logistics committee is the backbone of IUDM! We're responsible for putting on the biggest event, our Dance Marathon. We are in charge of set up, tear down, and making sure everything runs smoothly during our events! The Logger family puts in a ton of work throughout the year, and it's so exciting to watch everyone really come to life at the marathon. We put in a ton of hard work to make everything possible, but we have so much fun doing it. :) What is IUDM? Ā Ā Ā IUDM is the second-largest student-led philanthropy in the world. We raise money for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. IUDM began in 1991 to honor the legacy of Ryan White. Last year, the organization reached an incredible milestone of over $50 million raised since 1991. IUDM has fully funded the Ryan White Center for Infectious Disease at Riley, and now the funds we raise go towards other areas of the hospital in need of support. Specifically, 25% of donations go towards clinical expenses to help Riley families, and 75% goes to support pediatric health at Riley's Wells Center for Pediatric Research. We raise money year round, all leading up to the dance marathon in November when over 4,000 IU students come together to celebrate all the work we have done throughout the year and stay on our feet for 36 hours to honor the Riley kids who inspire us. Why IUDM? Ā Ā Ā If you have read through my page and are still pondering if you should donate or not I urge you to watch the IUDM 2022 video. This was my final push to get involved and I hope you look at the faces of the Riley kids who feel all of the love from the dancers, committee members, and YOU the donors and sponsors. YOU are what makes IUDM so special.Ā Highlights of the Year!. Ā First time throwing up the Lās with my Loggers fam! Ā Ā Ā Ā Having the honor of being Newbie of the Week at my first meeting! Tacky Nite 2023!!!! SO many more memories and milestones to come!!! THANK YOU for helping me make a difference for the Rileys Children's Hospital.Ā *Your donation is tax-deductible and will make miracles happen for families who desperately need them.
