1 ABOUT THIS DOCUMENT

In this document, you will learn how to create an account on the DATEV
decryption platform.

After signing up, you will be able to decrypt and read encrypted e-mails you
have received.

2 BACKGROUND

Your communication partner uses DATEV E-Mail-Verschlüsselung. Every
communication partner that does not have a corresponding key (S/MIME or PGP)
will receive an e-mail via the decryption portal.

Registration for the decryption platform only needs to be completed once and is
carried out with the first encrypted e-mail you receive.

The decryption portal can only be accessed via an e-mail attachment

You can only access the decryption portal via the secure-email.html attachment
to your tax consultant's e-mail.


3 PROCEDURE

Creating an Account on the DATEV E-Mail-Verschlüsselung Decryption Portal
Voraussetzung:

You have received an e-mail with encrypted content.

Vorgehen: 1

Open the e-mail: Double-click on the e-mail.

Open the attachment: Double-click on the secure-email.html attachment.

The attachment will open in a web browser.

The attachment may need to be saved beforehand depending on the e-mail client
you are using.

Click the Open button.

The language selection dialog will be shown. Select your preferred language for
the portal.

Click OK in the current view. This uploads the e-mail to the decryption portal
and the the registration dialog will be shown.

Enter a password and repeat the entry.

The decrypted e-mail is shown. The registration has been completed.

View Decrypted E-Mails Directly in Your Mail Client

This information is only relevant to you if you do not want to use the
decryption platform, but instead want to decrypt e-mails using encryption
certificates directly in your mail client.
