It's a safe option that performs well in crash tests and offers head support and side impact protection. The KeyFit base has the RideRight bubble level indicators and spring-loaded recline foot to help parents get the seat level and correctly installed every time. And the LATCH connectors have the SuperCinch tightener that cinches the straps with force-multiplying leverage. SAFETY The KeyFit 30 is a top-rated infant car seat with a great track record for crash testing. This seat is very light (only 10 pounds) and has a narrow profile that makes it easier to fit multiple seats in the backseat of most vehicles. The head and body infant inserts are also helpful for newborns. The seat can be used up to 35 pounds and 32 inches tall, so it's likely your child will only outgrow this one at about age 1. Chicco has made several improvements over the years to make the KeyFit 30 even safer, such as a Supercinch LATCH system, a no-rethread harness and an anti-rebound bar. The base includes two orange lockoffs for the vehicle shoulder belt, and a built-in recline foot makes it easy to get the right angle in your vehicle. For LATCH installations this car seat comes with the SuperCinch tightener, a single strap that wraps around the base and tightens the LATCH connectors using force-multiplying leverage. No more sweating over a hard-to-get installation! COMFORT It also has a premium lower anchor connector bar with clearly marked storage spots to remove them when not in use and a built-in spring-assisted ReclineSure leveling foot to easily adjust the car seat angle. For parents who frequently switch cars, this seat clicks into the KeyFit base with a simple, one-handed attachment system that's also quick to release when you need to take it out for your ride. If you’re on the hunt for an infant car seat that’s easy to install correctly every time, look no further than the Chicco Keyfit. It’s one of the lightest infant seats in its class but still manages to be incredibly secure with the help of its SuperCinch Tightener. INSTALLATION Unlike many other multimode car seats, the Chicco OneFit has 9-position recline that’s perfect for long naps on the go. It’s also rear-facing and has a built-in infant insert to accommodate newborns. The seat is easy to install using the LATCH system or seat belt. The spring-loaded ReclineSure leveling foot and RideRight bubble indicators help ensure the base is at the correct angle in your vehicle. And the SuperCinch latch pull strap tightens easily and with no rethreading. To install the car seat, read the instructions that came with your particular model. Some models have different installation requirements for front-facing vs. back-facing use, and some have different requirements for installing with a lower anchor.
