Manhattan Schoolhouse warmly welcomes families to a Reggio Emilia inspired
school where every child’s intellectual, emotional, social and moral potential
is thoughtfully cultivated in an environment of trust and partnership between
parents, educators, children and community.

At Manhattan Schoolhouse, children are free to explore, imagine, and create in a
safe, loving, respectful and nurturing environment which prepares them for
tomorrow’s world today.

With three locations in the Upper East Side, we have created culturally rich and
inspiring child centered learning environments, providing full-time, extended
hour and part-time programs.  Manhattan Schoolhouse provides care that is rooted
in the belief that every interaction with each child matters.

We maintain a low teacher/child ratio that ensures each child gets the attention
he or she needs.  Throughout the day, children engage in dynamic projects as
vehicles for learning.  Children work with open-ended, recyclable materials and
with various mediums of art.  Every classroom has daily movement activities,
music classes, and foreign languages are taught as well.  Manhattan Schoolhouse
believes in providing a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and exercise. 
Children enjoy freshly made family style meals and snacks, fostering the joyous
experience of eating communally.

Our children grow in a loving and intellectually stimulating environment. 
Throughout their time with us, they learn to collaborate, share, treat others
with kindness and respect, and explore their interests. Children graduate our
program ready for kindergarten and with an understanding of their part in our
