Hello!

I’M KARTHIGA

I am an oncologist specializing in drug discovery with a focus on combating
cancer cell invasion. Throughout my career, I have pioneered innovative
approaches to study and target invasive mechanisms in brain tumours, developing
advanced 3D in vitro tumour models that accurately replicate tumour
environments. Using these models, I have created high-throughput screening
methods to identify novel therapeutic targets. By combining my expertise in
oncology with advanced skills in Computer-Assisted Drug Design (CADD), I
developed F2i, a novel and patented inhibitor with 85% efficacy against
FGFR-driven cancers, marking a breakthrough in targeting invasive cancer
pathways.

UPCOMING RESEARCH

NOVEL 3D TUMOUROID MODELS FOR PRECISION MODELLING OF CANCER CELL INVASION IN
VITRO

Current 3D models, though valuable, fall short in replicating the complexity of
the tumor microenvironment (TME). To overcome these limitations, we propose a
multi-faceted model incorporating synthetic ECM analogs with tailored control
over stiffness and composition to mimic the native extracellular matrix (ECM).

UNLOCKING CANCER’S SECRETS: MACHINE LEARNING-POWERED QUANTIFICATION OF CELL
INVASION AND DISCOVERY OF NOVEL TARGETS

Traditional methods for studying cancer invasion are limited in their ability to
process and analyse large, complex datasets. By integrating advanced machine
learning algorithms with high-content imaging of 3D cancer models,

MY RECENT RESEARCH

F2I: PIONEERING A NEW APPROACH TO CANCER THERAPY WITH AN FRS2 INHIBITOR

Building upon my previous work on disrupting oncogenic signaling, I have
continued my research into the fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) pathway,
a key driver of cancer progression through its adaptor protein FRS2.
