LEARN MORE ABOUT SERVICES OUR SERVICE TEAM BRIAN SCHARLES DIRECTOR OF ITS ENGINEERING & SERVICE Brian Scharles has worked for TAPCO since 1988, and he is currently the Director of ITS Engineering & Service. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in 1989. He also attended the Traffic Institute at Northwestern University and received his Master's of Science in Transportation Engineering from Marquette University. Brian is responsible for managing signal system installations and programming, including closed loop systems and applications engineering for signal controller installations. In addition, he manages the personnel who service and maintain some of these systems. He has been certified as a fiber optic technician by the Fiber Optic Association and has assisted in the complete integration of the WisDOT fiber optic system operating under the MONITOR Program. On top of that, Brian is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). RICK KLINE SIGNAL SERVICE MANAGER Rick Kline has more than 28 years of signal service and maintenance experience, and he has been a valued employee of TAPCO since 1990. He has completed 60 credits of electronics courses at Waukesha Technical College and Milwaukee Area Technical College. In addition, he is an IMSA-certified work zone safety specialist and an IMSA-certified traffic signal technician, both Level I and Level II. Rick attended the TRANSYT-7F orientation workshop at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, including the revised use of TRANSYT-7F in the Wisconsin Fuel Efficient Transportation Program, in June 1993. Lastly, he is a certified installation and service technician for Iteris video detection systems. MATT DONE SIGNAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN Matt Done has more than two decades of signal service and maintenance experience and has been a TAPCO employee since 1999. He has completed his associate's degree in Computer Electronics Technology at Herzing College in Madison, WI. Additionally, Matt has completed the IMSA-certified work zone safety course and IMSA-certified traffic signal technician, both Level I and Level II. Matt has performed preventative maintenance for over 30 communities while working at TAPCO. Current duties include maintenance and troubleshooting of existing traffic control cabinets, installation and turn on of new and temporary cabinets, installation of video detection cameras and traffic signal communication Systems. ROBERT LINGNOFSKI ITS PROJECT / REGION SUPERVISOR Robert Lingnofski has more than 23 years of signal service and maintenance experience and has been a TAPCO employee since 1995. He has completed 63 credits of electronics courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College. He is also an IMSA-certified work zone safety specialist and an IMSA-certified traffic signal technician, both Level I and Level II. Robert is an Fiber Optic Association-certified technician as well, and that includes fiber optic terminations and fiber optic splicing. He is the maintenance technician for the WisDOT MONITOR system under various construction projects. Maintenance responsibility includes CCTV cameras, spread spectrum radios, 170 controllers, ramp metering programming, microwave detectors, variable message signs, fiber optic transceivers, SONET equipment and traveler advisory radios. JACOB WRIGHT DIRECTOR OF FIELD SERVICE OPERATIONS Jacob Wright has more than 14 years of signal service and ITS maintenance experience. He has been with since 2006. Jacob has B.S. in Architectural Engineering - Building Electrical Systems from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. In addition, he has been certified as a fiber optic technician by the Fiber Optic Association. He is also a certified installation and service technician for Iteris video systems, Encom radios and Motorola wireless systems. On top of that, Jacob is an IMSA-certified work zone safety specialist and IMSA-certified traffic signal technician, both Level I and Level II. He is also a maintenance technician for the WisDOT statewide ITS system, performing field management, coordination and ITS maintenance, including CCTV cameras, detection cameras, spread spectrum radios, broadband radios, 170/2070 controllers, microwave detectors and more. Lastly, Jacob specializes in IP systems integration, including VLANing and multicasting for large WAN networks. JEFF TARCZEWSKI PROJECT MANAGER Jeff Tarczewski has more than three decades of signal service and maintenance experience and has been with TAPCO since 1989. Jeff has attended Milwaukee Business Technical Institute for electronics. Currently, he is a maintenance technician for the WisDOT MONITOR system, and his duties include the maintenance of new variable message signs, microwave detectors, fiber optic trailblazer signs and microwave detectors. Jeff is an IMSA-certified work zone safety specialist and an IMSA-certified traffic signal technician, both Level I and Level II.
