Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY, US Territories or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEP’s staffing needs. NOTE: All remote work locations require vetting and final approval prior to offer and/or start date. Possesses intermediate level knowledge and performs moderately complex activities with proficiency in the completion of diverse tasks and extensive analyses. Works in a team environment to provide environmental permitting and compliance support to a variety of company facilities, including power generating stations, electric transmission and distribution facilities, service centers, office buildings and other AEP regulated and commercial business operations. Engages in regulatory development activities, as well as research and development related to environmental regulatory compliance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below: 1) Performs moderately complex environmental compliance and support activities such as preparation of permit applications and technical reports, responding to requests from environmental agencies, 2) Assists in: developing comment packages on draft permits and regulations, routine data analysis, facility compliance reviews and vendor compliance audits, and scientific and analytical investigations. 3) Solves routine compliance problems and performs routine analyses with minimum direction from higher-level employees. 4) Interprets regulations and procedures required by external agencies and policies, practices, standards and rules of the company in the context of system upsets and other unusual conditions. 5) Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees. 6) Initiates corrective action when project objectives are not being met. 7) Develops, reviews, or presents technical reports and analyses in a clear, concise and effective fashion. Job Type Full-Time Relocation No Annual Salary From (Min) 69570.00 Annual Salary To (Mid) 120088.00 Minimum Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education requirements are listed below: * Bachelor's degree (environmental science, biology, chemistry, natural resources, or ecology or related field). Work Experience requirement listed below: Minimum of 2 years of environmental experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Physical demand level is Sedentary 1. Individuals with a Master's or Doctorate degree may be considered for entry into the organization at this level. 2. Registration in recognized associations and organizations for environmental professionals is encouraged. 3. 40 hours per week with some overtime required.
