ABOUT US

Bernina Re was launched in 2017 as a Solvency II equivalent Class 3A reinsurer.
It was established as a transformer to underwrite traditional reinsurance
business for the exclusive benefit of funds managed by Credit Suisse Insurance
Linked Strategies Ltd. (Credit Suisse ILS) on a fully collateralized basis.

In 2019 Bernina Re achieved its development into a fully staffed reinsurer,
sourcing and underwriting reinsurance business via its head office in Bermuda as

ESTABLISHED IN
A LEADING REINSURANCE HUB

Bernina Re is headquartered in Bermuda, which has long been a well-known and
highly respected global hub for insurance capacity. In particular, reinsurance
has been one of the fastest growing sectors in recent years. As one of the top
three reinsurance centers in the world, Bermuda is best known for its
market-leading position in the property-catastrophe reinsurance sector. Bermuda
has made a lot of effort over the last decade to achieve and maintain Solvency
II equivalence. It is one of only two jurisdictions worldwide, along with
Switzerland, to have this distinction.
