SACRED HEART & ST WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH AND PARISH

Sacred Heart and St William Catholic Church, Uppermill, Saddleworth,  is a
sacred space and everyone is welcome here to look around, to have some quiet
time, to pray on their own, to join us in our services and liturgical
celebrations, to involve themselves in the pastoral and social life of our
vibrant Catholic community.

This website shows the thriving Catholic parish that we are, with information
including the times of Masses and Devotions, who you contact to arrange a
baptism or a wedding, how you might become involved in the life of the parish,
the activities and provision for children and families, and many other things
beside.  Each week the downloadable Newsletter gives up to date information and
notice of special events in the future.

WHERE WE ARE IN SADDLEWORTH

The Church and Parish lie in the middle of Saddleworth and is the most westerly
parish in the Diocese of Leeds.  Saddleworth is made up of several relatively
small villages which have their own individual identities, but which together
make up a committed, outgoing and welcoming community. 

Sacred Heart Church, Parish Centre and Presbytery, is a single building with the
church visibly located on the High Street in Uppermill, the largest of the
villages.  We are blessed with the pastoral care of Fr Jim Clarke, who is the
Parish Priest for St Joseph's Mossley.  Fr Jim can be contacted by using this

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR REV PETER RUDD
RECEPTION MASS 7PM WEDNESDAY 24TH JULY
REQUIEM MASS 12.30PM THURSDAY 25TH JULY 2024

The Requiem Mass for the late Peter Rudd will  be on Thursday 25th July, at
12:30pm, here at the Sacred Heart.  This requiem will be offered by the Vicar
General of Leeds, Monsignor Paul Fisher.

Peter’s body will be brought into Church on Wednesday evening 24th at 7pm with
Reception Mass. For those who may not be able to join us for the requiem on the
25th, this is an opportunity in giving thanks to God for Peter’s life and work
in Saddleworth, and here at Sacred Heart.
