FOOD-RELATED EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: OCTOBER 20, 2023


Welcome back to another week of delicious downtown specials. 

Calling all foodies!! It’s time to enjoy all the delicious bites Boulder has to
offer at the annual dining event,First Bite Boulder! This event will happen from
October 20-29th! This year, 11 downtown restaurants are participating:Bohemian
Biergarten, Gemini, Japango, Jill’s Restaurant, Masas & Agave Boulder, Organic
Sandwich Company, Pasta Press, Postino WineCafe, River & Woods, Rosetta Hall,
Sforno Trattoria and a special shoutout to University Hill’s The Sink! Dine at
these participating restaurants, but don't forget to make a reservation first!

Join Gemini on Wednesday, October 25 for the Twin Flame Lamb Dinner as part of
the 18th Annual First Bite dining event! This is a ticketed event and
reservations can be made on OpenTable. Tickets are $75 per person, and guests
will take home a specialty spice blend.

Wondering how to pair your favorite foods with tea? Check out Ku Cha’s easy
guide for pairing tea and food! Ku Cha House of Tea is a traditional Chinese tea
house with over 150 premium loose leaf teas! Try handmade recipes or create your
own unique teas at their blend-your-own tea bar. 

Mountain Sun Pub has a new special! Try their shrimp & grits (Cajun grilled
shrimp, roasted red pepper grits, masque choux, Annapurna Amber creole sauce)
modeled by the amazing Chef Lincoln. 

Getting prepared for Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving? Check out Peppercorn for
all hosting, decorations, table settings and so much more. 

In need of a delicious breakfast bite? Snooze A.M. Eatery is the perfect place
to dine! This fall they are launching a new Pancake of the Week. This week’s
special is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pancakes - buttermilk batter filled
with bits of chocolate chip cookie dough and topped with vanilla crème, whipped
mascarpone, chocolate chip dust and powdered sugar. This pancake is available

Did you know that you can get a Gelato Flight at Gelato Boy and enjoy up to six
of your favorite flavors? Grab a friend and head on over to enjoy this delicious
sweet treat. 

Show up and show out in your finest costume at License No. 1’s Speakeasy
Halloween party, on October 28 starting at 5pm, for a chance to win prizes for
Overall Best Costume, Funniest Costume, or Most Original Costume! Enjoy craft
cocktails and live music from The Silent Bear Trio!

WAYS TO HELP

Emergency Family Assistance Fund (EFFA) helps those in our community whose
immediate needs for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot be
adequately met by other means, and supports their efforts toward financial
stability or self-sufficiency. You can help them with a financial contribution,
volunteering, or donating non-perishable food and cleaning supplies.

Harvest of Hope's sole mission is food assistance. They offer clients a choice
shopping experience where individuals select preferred foods within their
shopping allowances. You can help them with financial assistance, volunteering
or by donating the food items on their shopping list. Learn more here.

Boulder Food Rescue aims to create a more just and less wasteful food system by
facilitating the sustainable redistribution of healthy food that would otherwise
be wasted to low-income communities, by bicycle. The best way to help them
currently is to donate or volunteer. You can learn more about the work they are
doing here.

Meals on Wheels Boulder provides nutritious meals and a daily well-being check
to Boulder residents, regardless of age or income. The number one way to support
them during this time is to contribute financially. You can do that here.
