OUR ORIGIN


2008

This school was renamed to Coastal High School and officially opened by the
honorable deputy minister Dr. Becky Ndjoze - on 19 September 2008.
Sponsored by Ministry of Education Erongo region




1994

This SOS Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School was officially opened by the honorable
deputy minister Mr. J.W. Wentworth ministry of education and culture on 17 June
1994.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL




DEAR PARENT/CARER

A very warm welcome to Coastal High School. I am very proud to serve as the
principal of Coastal High School and to be leading an ambitious school with huge
potential. These are exciting times for the school and for the community. I am
delighted to be taking the school into the next chapter in its history.

I am determined to secure an outstanding future for the school and my aims are
to build on the current strengths, develop a greater focus on enhancing the
quality of teaching and learning, and take the school forward on a journey to
outstanding in all areas. I am committed to working with the staff, students and
the local community to transform learning, aspirations and opportunities for our
students and in the community in which they live.

My aim is to ensure that our students have access to the best possible
opportunities and experiences during their education, so that they can reach
their full potential and are better prepared for the future. Our work is focused
on developing and celebrating students as individuals and not just as learners.
We believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves a first class
education. Everyone has hidden potential to be uncovered and nurtured and I
strongly believe that together as a learning community we can unlock this
potential.

At Coastal High School, our students are at the heart of every decision.
Everything we do is about ensuring their experiences, help them to develop in a
caring, supportive environment with a strong pastoral structure at the centre of
the school. We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our
students and our vision is that our students aspire to be the best they can be.
