EACH ONE OF US CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE CHANGE. WHO WE ARE Registered in 2017, Wakenya Watenda Wema charity organization is a voluntary, non profit making charity organization driven by the desire to transform lives of the less fortunate. Wakenya Watenda Wema(WWW) charity organization’s philosophy is based on the premise that every human being deserves a decent life irregardless of their social status, gender, physical/mental abilities and religion. Our main objective is to inspire, empower and transform lives of the less privileged through charity activities. In so doing, we aim to create a world where everyone especially the less fortunate feel cherished. WWW activities are mainly in children’s homes, rescue centers and homes for the physically and mentally challenged. The organization also does street feeding programmes, mentorship in students, pads drive and slum visits. Although its headquarters are in Nairobi, WWW has been reaching out to marginalized communities remotely located all over Kenya such as Kilifi, Kwale, Laikipia, Kajiado and Nyahururu. In a bid to pacify goodwill, foster love and brotherhood among members, WWW routinely organizes fun days and team building events. As an organization WWW’s charity activities are funded through goodwill, grace and love from its members. All activities are funded through generous contributions from individual members which are both financial and in kind. Usually a calendar of activities is released beforehand afterwhich members are challenged to save for success of the respective charity events. Previous Next — OUR VISION. WHAT WE DO — FEEDING PROGRAM Child malnutrition is a major problem among the less fortunate kids in Kenya. This affects their physical growth and brain development. We do plan seasonally events to visit and feed the less fortunate in children homes, home of the aged, prison, schools, streets and slums. We have been able to make a greater impact in fighting childhood starvation and poverty and provide much needed nourishment and support to those children and families in critical need. — CLOTHING DRIVE AND SHOES DRIVE. Our organization allows people to contribute to the growth and happiness of the underprivileged irrespective of their geographic distances and backgrounds. when someone doesn’t have good clothes they lack joy and the dignity they deserve. By donating your clothes, you create a supply of quality clothing for people who could otherwise not afford them. Our Goal is to help those in extreme poverty by seeing that they have the basic needs like clothing and foot protection. Kids who lack shoes, its not just their feet that suffer but their health also Without shoes, people are vulnerable to scrapes, cuts, bacteria and parasites that can lead to infection and other serious illnesses. Kids without shoes or clothes often can’t attend school. Together we have been creating a more peaceful and equitable world for all humanity and we work to ensure every child receives an education and opportunities for a better future. — PAD DRIVES FOR GIRLS AND BOXERS FOR BOYCHILD. Menstruates in Kenya face various challenges, such as limited access to safe and affordable MHM products, the ability to change MHM materials and access safe and convenient disposal facilities, and limited access to basic facts and information on female reproductive health and menstrual hygiene. A research carried out by UNESCO in African countries shows that increased school dropouts among girls in rural areas is linked to reproductive health issues. In Kenya, a joint State Department of Gender and UNICEF report indicated that more than 1,039,000 school girls were missing classes at least 4 days in a month. Menstruation is considered a taboo topic, causing embarrassment and exclusion from school, family life and social activities for girls when they are menstruating. Period-shame is rooted in gender inequality. Cultural and religious traditions around periods are often derived from discriminatory, patriarchal norms about a girl’s status and place in society. As a result, girls and women are often expected to refrain from normal activities, such as bathing or cooking and may even be banished from the home during their period. These restrictions and negative attitudes towards menstruation affect girls’ self-esteem. By improving menstrual health and tackling period-shame we have improved girls’ attendance and performance at school. we have break down taboos and misconceptions around menstruation inoder to raise girls’ self-esteem and enable girls to fully participate in all aspects of society. We also have our Boxers drive for the boys because we are not leaving anyone behind…lets SAVE THE BOY and SPEARHEAD SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION of the BOY CHILD also. Lets be the change we want to see in our communities. MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY.! PARTNERS Previous Next 2,669 WAKENYA WATENDA WEMA. Touch A Life, Create A Smile.
