OUR PURPOSE

To be to the praise of the glory of God by being the local body of Christ in the
town of Navan.




OUR MISSION

To make disciples, baptize them, and teach them.




OUR AUTHORITY

The Bible is our sole authority in all matters of faith and practice.




WE ARE INDEPENDENT, TRADITIONAL AND CONSERVATIVE, ROOTED IN THE “FAITH WHICH WAS
ONCE DELIVERED”, AND HOLD SPIRITUAL KINSHIP WITH HISTORIC ANABAPTISM.




WE BELIEVE



God is one God who exists eternally in the three persons of the Trinity: the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is of the same divine essence and
co-equal with the others.  The persons are distinct, yet one in being.

The Bible is the word of God written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit to
write down exactly what God wanted to communicate to us.  Since the Bible is
God’s Word, it is our final authority.

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless
life, died on the cross of Calvary, was buried for three days, rose again, and
ascended up to sit at the Father’s right hand.  His shed blood washes away all
sins for those who place their faith in him.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He imparts new spiritual life to the
spiritually dead who place their faith in Christ.   He indwells believers,
illumines and teaches the truth, imparts gifts to serve the church, and enables
believers to live a life pleasing to God.

Mankind was created by God  to live in relationship with him.  But Adam and Eve
chose to rebel against God and brought the curse of God on the whole human race
resulting in physical death and loss of fellowship with God.

Salvation is a gracious gift from God received by trusting in Jesus’ payment for
sin and in his power to save.  Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross paid our debt of
sin and made it possible for us to be reconciled back to God.

The Church is a called out assembly of immersed believers who gather together to
worship, practice the ordinances, fellowship, and carry out the Great
Commission.

The Sign Gifts have ceased with the completion of the canon of Scripture.  The
revelatory gifts were attached to the apostolic office and therefore died out in
the first century.

The End Times will consist of the rapture of the church, the Great Tribulation,
Christ’s Second Coming, and millennial reign.  The final destiny of believers is
eternal life in heaven with God and, for unbelievers, eternal, conscious torment
in the lake of fire.


AS BAPTISTS, WE HOLD THAT



The Bible is our sole authority for all matters of faith and practice.

The church is comprised of a saved and immersed church membership.

The local church is autonomous.

Each true believer is a member of the priesthood, and can go directly to the
Father through Jesus Christ apart from any other human intermediary.

Each believer has soul liberty, and can believe and worship according to his or
her own conscience, being accountable to God alone.

The only two ordinances of the church are immersion and the Lord’s Supper. They
are symbolic only and confer no saving grace.

The church and state are wholly separate entities.

The church and individual believers practice separation from doctrinal error and
worldliness.






A LITTLE ABOUT US





A FAMILY FRIENDLY CHURCH



You will find us a welcoming and family-friendly church.  We love to fellowship
together both during and outside our scheduled meetings.

On Sundays, we hold separate child and adult Bible classes at 10AM, and combined
worship at 11AM.  A creche is available for infants and young children during
the main worship hour.

We also gather mid-week on Wednesdays for an interactive Bible study at 6PM.

We love to share together in our mutual love for the Saviour, sing hymns, and
study and hear the Word.   We are striving together to grow in our likeness of
Jesus Christ, the One who gave Himself for us that He might restore us to God.

OUR PASTOR




Pastor Steve McKinley and his wife Brandie started holding meetings in 2018, and
chartered the Navan Baptist Church in 2023.  Steve is an ordained minister and
is a graduate of Maranatha Baptist Seminary in Watertown, Wisconsin, USA.  Steve
and Brandie have six children, Gabrielle, Benjamin, Joel, Naomi, Alaina, and
Emily.  Their primary joy in life is to serve their Lord and Saviour, Jesus
Christ, in full-time Christian ministry.
