The mold type, quantity (spore count), and environment determines how to deal with it. The only way to determine the type of mold that is present in your home is to have it tested. Not all molds are the same. Some molds produce harmful mycotoxins and most molds give allergic reactions. Such as; itchy watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, skin rash; and various infections. Other molds such as stachybotrys chartarum also known as "black mold" or "toxic mold" can cause asthma or other severe respiratory health problems and should be remediated and reported to your health provider if you have been exposed and are experiencing respiratory problems. RADON TESTING SERVICES Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes all over the United States . Radon comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. Cracks and other holes in the foundation of buildings can allow radon gas into your home. Any home can have a radon problem. This includes, but is not limited to: new homes, old homes, energy efficient homes, drafty homes and homes with or without basements. In fact, nearly one out of every 15 homes in the Untied States is estimated to have an elevated radon level (4.0 pCi/l or more). The national average indoor radon level is about 1.3 pCi/l. The higher the homes radon level the greater the health risk to you and your family. Reducing your radon levels can be done easily, effectively and fairly inexpensively. Even homes with very high radon levels can be reduced below 4.0 pCi/l. LEAD PAINT TESTING Our Lead Paint assessment and testing is to determine if and where the Property has lead-based paint hazards. Risk Assessment: We will perform a risk assessment to locate the existence of deteriorated paint, assess the extent and causes of the deterioration and other potential lead-based paint hazards. Surfaces that have a distinct painting history, including those surfaces with visibly deteriorating paint, shall be tested for lead-based paint except for those surfaces which the inspector determines have been replaced after 1978 or do not contain lead-based paint. Visual assessment: We will perform a visual assessment to determine if any deteriorated paint is present. This assessment is for lead paint sampling only. Water testing for lead is not included in this service. ASBESTOS INSPECTION & TESTING Asbestos is a known carcinogen and is the only known cause of mesothelioma. This serious cancer is caused by breathing in or ingesting asbestos fibers, which become lodged in the thin membrane that lines and encases the lungs and abdominal cavity. WELL WATER TESTING For those who want a VA mortgage on property in rural or remote areas, well water testing can be a big issue. Before you can be approved for a VA mortgage loan, the government requires an appraisal of the property to make sure it meets the FHA VA testing minimum requirements. Those requirements are focused on the safety, structural soundness and sanitary conditions of the property. SEWER SCOPE LINE EVALUATION A sewer scope inspection can reveal various issues with the sewer line in a home. These problems may include, but are not limited to, cracks, tree root intrusion, blockages, restrictions, as well as crushed, disconnected, broken, and separated lines.
