MISSION


ENABLING GROUPS
TO THINK, LEARN, AND WORK TOGETHER.

I am passionate about supporting learning and positive change in groups of all
kinds. Blending over 20 years of experience as an educator and process designer
with insights from my PhD research about the role of listening in building
resilience in complex, adaptive systems, I work with a sense of both purpose and
playfulness.

My goal is to support effective communication and learning, and ultimately, to
help your group achieve its goals and do good work in the world.

HEALTHY SYSTEMS ARE THOSE IN WHICH THERE IS AN OPEN FLOW OF INFORMATION AND
IDEAS.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience as an educator, process designer, and
facilitator, I offer a number of services to meet groups where they are and
support them in opening the pathways of communication.

I help groups to enable the flow of information and ideas and maximize their
potential. These services include team restoration, listening and
perspective-taking workshops, a clearing and communication workshop, team
development and group facilitation, and retreats in natural settings. I also
have a joint offering with Fritjof Capra called The Systems View Lab. Find out

ADDRESS AND TRANSFORM CONFLICTS WITHIN YOUR GROUP TO GET UNSTUCK


TEAM RESTORATION

A key step in optimizing group effectiveness is to address and move through
conflicts large and small that create blocks to the flow of information and
ideas. The team restoration process supports groups in engaging openly and
respectfully about their issues. It creates a space for them to develop
understanding and negotiate workable agreements. In the process, participants
develop skills that can be used to address and clear future issues/blocks as
they arise.




DEVELOP CAPACITY TO ENGAGE WITH PEOPLE WHO THINK DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU DO


LISTENING & PERSPECTIVE-TAKING WORKSHOPS

Based on insights from my PhD dissertation research, I can help your group
improve the capacity to listen to, learn from, and work with others, including
those who think differently. Participants will build self-awareness and use this
awareness to manage their own reactivity in the face of different views, ideas,
or ways of doing things and by so doing, open to new ways of listening and
engaging with others.

CREATE A CLEARING CULTURE IN YOUR TEAM


CLEARING AND COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed to help groups develop interpersonal skills and create
communication agreements in order to minimize downstream
miscommunication/conflict and the associated stress. This is especially useful
for newly-forming teams to help them start out with some shared communication
capacities as well as some agreements for how to work through the interpersonal
difficulties that will inevitably arise as people work together over a period of
time.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT & GROUP FACILITATION

Enhance team connection and trust in team-building experiences that are
customized to meet the needs of your group. Take action with your team through a
variety of engaging facilitated processes that will help you assess needs,
develop and explore ideas, and make decisions to take your work forward.



LEARN, CONNECT, ENERGIZE, TRANSFORM


RETREATS IN NATURAL SETTINGS

Drawing on my long experience as an outdoor, experiential, and adventure
educator, I design and customize multi-day retreats in beautiful, natural
settings to meet the specific needs of teams/groups. Based at retreat centres or
lodges away from the demands of the day-to-day, these enjoyable and energizing
retreats will help your group develop communication capacity and support its
creativity and effectiveness going forward.




DEVELOP AND APPLY SYSTEMS THINKING CAPABILITIES IN YOUR SETTING


SYSTEMS VIEW LAB

Designed and co-facilitated with Fritjof Capra, the Systems View Lab is an
interactive, online learning experience for executive teams who wish to develop
and deepen their systems thinking capabilities and explore the applications of a
Systems View of Life within the specific context of their organization.

ABOUT JEN


I LOVE BUILDING COMMUNITY AND CONNECTION WITH GROUPS TO HELP THEM THINK BETTER
TOGETHER.

I have worked as an educator and process designer for over 20 years with people
of all ages and in all kinds of settings. I have a PhD in Sustainability
Education and an MA in Education from Prescott College, as well as a BEd and a
BA in Political Science from Queen’s University. My work and research sit at the
confluence of resilience and complexity theory, whole-system change, dialogue
theory and practice, organizational learning, mindfulness, transformative
learning theory, experiential education, and nature connection. Bringing my love
of learning and a deep sense of humility, I work with thoughtful purpose and
infectious playfulness. I’d love to connect with you to find out how I can
