RESEARCH FOR UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGING AUSTRALIA’S MARINE BIODIVERSITY

We fund nationally-consistent research to help decision-makers manage and
conserve Australia’s marine biodiversity. Our projects range from establishing
monitoring baselines for Australian marine parks, to quantifying the risk of
shipping to large marine fauna. Lately we’ve been reviewing the wellbeing of
Australia’s sharks and rays (link is external), surveying Tasmania’s Red
Handfish and restoring seagrasses at Shark Bay.
