OUR WORK DIRECTLY HELPS 1.4 MILLION ANIMALS A YEAR

Millions more working horses, donkey and mules feel the benefit of Brooke too.
We train thousands of animal owners and animal health workers around the world.
On a bigger scale, we've fought for new policies to protect millions more
working animals.

Donations will be distributed across all of Brooke’s work where the need is
greatest, helping working horses, donkeys and mules.


HOW WE ACHIEVED AN AFRICA-WIDE BAN

The bans we‘ve helped to secure will protect more than 32 million donkeys.

2020: Kenya

Thanks to Brooke‘s work a ban came into force, only to be effectively lifted
after the owners of slaughterhouses appealed. But our teams don‘t give up!

2022: Tanzania

Because of lobbying by Brooke and our supporters, the Tanzanian government
announced a 10-year ban on the slaughter of donkeys in 2022.

2022: Cote d’Ivoire

Thanks to the support of people like you, the government declared a ban in 2022,
calling it a "historic decision for the preservation of the donkey species".

2024: Africa-wide

Pressure from Brooke and our supporters has led to an Africa-wide ban on the
legal donkey skin trade. A huge success, thanks to people like you!
