INTRODUCTION

Cattr is an open-source time-tracking application, designed to be flawlessly
integrated with your infrastructure. Superpowered with features like built-in
screenshots capture and activity detection, it’s a great instrument to boost
your team’s performance straight to the top.

IF YOU’RE AN EMPLOYEE

To begin working with Cattr, you need to obtain credentials (hostname, email,
and password) for your user account from an administrator of your company. After
obtaining these credentials, download the desktop app here —
https://cattr.app/desktop.

Notice that Cattr for Windows is not popular enough yet to pass Microsoft
SmartScreen protection. If you see the SmartScreen popup when opening Cattr,
click on the “More info” link then on the “Run anyway” button.

On the first run, Cattr will ask you for the credentials from your
administrator. After a successful login, the Task list will appear. To start
tracking, click on a button on the right from the task name. The current task
name will appear at the bottom of the application window.

Cattr for macOS will also request access to screen recording and universal
access for screenshots capture and activity tracking, respectively.

To access the web application, follow the link provided by your company’s
administrator and enter your email and password. For the future configuration
instructions, ask the administrator.

IF YOU’RE A COMPANY OWNER

Cattr will let you understand better how your employees work. There is a
shortlist of built-in instruments, each one of them created for the specific
task.

SCREENSHOTS AND ACTIVITY TRACKING

For each employee, you can specifically enable screenshot capture and activity
tracking for keyboard and mouse. These instruments will help you get insights
about how good is workflow built in your company.

DASHBOARD

Dashboard allows you to see what’s going on with your team in both real-time and
retrospective.

PROJECT AND TIME USE REPORT

Both types of reports give you a representation of spent time but from opposite
perspectives. Time Use Report is focused on employees, showing what they did for
the selected time interval. In turn, Project Report focused on the projects and
tasks.

INVOICES

Invoices will ease the calculation of employees’ salaries and customers’ bills.

INSTALLATION

Notice that Cattr is an on-premises application, which requires installation on
your server. Check out the «Getting started» and «Advanced installation»
articles for more info.
