ABOUT THE AMS

Members of the Australasian Menopause Society Limited (AMS) are doctors and
other health care professionals who each have a special interest in women's
health in midlife and menopause and the promotion of healthy ageing. 

Whether information is needed about peri-menopause, MHT/HRT and alternatives,
osteoporosis or how to locate a doctor interested in women's health, the AMS
seeks to bring accurate, evidence-based information to health care workers and
the wider community.

GENDER LANGUAGE POLICY

The Australasian Menopause Society acknowledges that some individuals who
undergo menopause do not identify as women. We are committed to inclusion and
respect for our members, the patients we treat and the wider community.

Gender Language Policy
The Australasian Menopause Society (AMS) recognises gender diversity. In our
publications, presentations, printed and digital materials, AMS uses the word
“woman” (and the pronouns “she” and “her”) to refer to all individuals in the
context of discussion of menopause. When describing or referencing study
populations used in research, AMS will use the gender terminology reported by
the study investigators.
