Celebrities like Catherine Zeta-Jones are great examples of the apple-shaped
body. This shape is characterized by broad shoulders and a fuller waist, with
relatively slimmer hips and thighs. If you have a pear-shaped body, you’ll
likely find that your lower body is more prominent than your upper body, and you
may have a defined waistline. Think of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, who are
known for their curvy, pear-shaped figures. This body shape features wider hips

HOWRSE HELIOS RAY HORSE STABLE

12/31/2023

Do we really have to be treated like children because someone gets offended? If
two players stress that their roleplay is private, should we really be punished
for swearing? What we write about is nobody else’s business. I will yield if
someone comes to me personally and tells me that my swearing is out of
proportion.Īnother thing which I found irritating: I swore in a topic that was
private between myself and a close friend. Here’s my problem: if you are over a
certain age, should karma still apply to you? I turned eighteen in September and
now I can drink but apparently, on Howrse, I’m still not allowed to swear
because I may offend someone. I believe they wait and see who reports who, and
then they strike. To be honest, I don’t think Howrse checks at all. However,
Howrse doesn’t usually pick up on it. Disclaimer: yes, I know, it’s against the
rules. Recently, I lost a karma point for swearing in a forum. Coming to you
from the cave of shade is roux! Overall, though, any trophy you achieve on the
game is worthwhile, and of course, they all do look quite nice on your page!
While this is a daunting task, it’s highly rewarding because it took so long,
which is true for all of the more challenging trophies. Once you’ve gotten one
Divine, you get the trophy, and can keep building it up from there! Perhaps you
want to collect all the coat colors of all the breeds on Howrse. There’s a
trophy for that! It might take you ages to save up for this Divine, but in the
end, it’ll be worth it. For example, perhaps you set yourself a goal to own a
Divine horse. Some trophies are quite difficult to achieve, but that makes them
all the more worthwhile. (Note: you personally don’t have to breed all these
horses buying them from the sales count.) If you’re focused on producing/buying
horses that win competitions, you can also start to build up your victory
trophy, which counts how many competitions you’ve won. As you start building
your collection of GA/RA coats, you might begin to work towards earning the
breeder of all horse breeds offered on Howrse. Along with these trophies, it’s
often fairly easy to work towards your Helios’ Ray trophy, as many GA or RA
horses have this BMI, or look best when they have a background. For those
interested in working towards more difficult trophies, you could start
collecting Golden Apple horses or Retired Apple coats. You must own all eight
species that are available on the game. To win the donkey trophy, you need only
collect three of them, and only five are needed for the Fjord (be aware,
however, that rarer coats do cost significantly more than common coats, so you
may be parting with more cash than you thought you’d have to).Īnother trophy
that is fairly easy to collect is the species trophy. Beyond the Friesian coat
trophy, there are some other similar breeder trophies that are easy to collect.
If not, it’s easy to achieve by rummaging around for a Friesian horse in the
auctions or the direct sales. If you happened to chose the Friesian as your
first horse, then you’re in luck! One trophy already in your grasp.

This one is easy because the breed only has one coat color: black. But never
fear! There’s one trophy, in particular, that’s very easy to collect: the
Friesian coat trophy. In this article, I will discuss the easiest trophies to
collect as well as the value of aiming high and completing other, more
difficult, trophies.įor the players just beginning, it may seem difficult to
earn your first trophy. The trophies encourage Howrsers to become involved with
the game and achieve their own personal goals. Here is where players can show
off: perhaps they have one hundred Golden Apple horses or a unicorn of each
breed. This can particularly be seen through the trophies that are displayed
prominently on players’ pages. From popularity rankings to being a part of a
highly-competitive team, the game encourages players to demonstrate their
dedication. Howrse loves to stoke the inner-ego that people harbor within them.

HONDA ATC 350X HISTORY

12/31/2023

But during the time frame mentioned, we had to ride what we had, and 3 wheelers
were still holding their own, esp. Hence Honda released the 400EX in the fall of
'98 labled as a 1999 model. But these youngsters gotta remember, which I didn't
know until just lately, the reason no sport machines were allowed to be produced
was from some 10 year law spanning from 1988-1998, right after they banned 3
wheelers. Usually neck and neck when drag racing my buddy on his 400EX when he
first got one in the spring of 2000. Once it was re-machined and rebuilt, ran
like a champ. Had my 350X rebuilt in 2000, and yes, the cam journal was shot,
prob due to little or any maint. Was never a fan of 2 strokes, to me they just
weren't made for the "coal region" here in PA. Still was on 3 wheels, didn't
even buy my first 4 wheeler until 2003, I know the Honda 250R was probably the
best quad of all time, actually never rode one. Gotta open the history book for
all the youngsters, no sport quads at the time, only Banshee's and Warriors, and
in my opinion, they weren't the best offered. I feel your pain fella, started
out on ATC's in the 80's, (yes I'm old!) Had an 87 200X, my favorite machine,
got a well used 86 350X in 1997, like you said, I was the 3rd owner at the time,
and the machine was not well maintained or taken care of.

None of us ever had problems with the heads.I owed that same 85 350X up untill a
few years back when my ex-wife stole it.never once had to replace the head
becuase of oiling issues.ģ50X heads get destroyed because people did poor
maintenence or used crappy oil's We lived way out in the country so dirt road
riding was the norm.all day 6th gear wide open, two of my friends are wheelie
guys could go as long as they wanted to, through all the gears. Me and a bunch
of my friends bought our 350X's brand new, I had the 85 they had the 86's. The
head is discontinued(for 10 years) and commands a high buck. Revving it
high(extended times), extended wheelies and revving it so high until you shift
are the primary reasons for the oiling failure. 350x's have a problems with top
end oiling, in 86 it got better, but not solved. When you check it, there is a
very important thing to look at: if it smokes at all, there is a good chance
that the cam journal is gone or valve seals/trane needs work.

SPECIALIZED DAILY 2 REVIEW

However, this time there is a singular new software feature being launched on
the Garmin MARQ series – a jetlag advisor. Aspects like case materials, buttons,
and even a new charging port/cable that’s massively faster than any other Garmin
watch. The Epix-based MARQ Athlete now utilizes the AMOLED display instead.Īs
with the previous MARQ editions, the differences are almost entirely based on
hardware and the outward design of the watch. Of course, the Epix and Fenix 7
units are virtually identical in terms of features, just with different
displays. The previous MARQ editions were based on the Fenix 6 series. This
watch builds upon the previous Garmin MARQ and CHRONOS lineups of fancier Fenix
variants, but now switches over to the Garmin Epix series as the underlying
platform. It’s a toss-up between extra battery life and power, over an extra
gear and smoother motor output (but you do end up with more weight on the
Trek).īoth excellent bikes, but we think the Trek sneaks it with its smoother
output and extra gear. It’s landed, the watch the 1% have been waiting for: The
$1,900 Garmin MARQ Athlete, 2nd Gen edition. This is one of the toughest
comparisons we’ve done. You also get an extra gear with Trek's 12-speed group
set. Display wise, the Specialized TCD offering is hard to compete with – Trek’s
Bosch Kiox 300 is decent, but just lags behind slightly.

You also get 5Nm more of torque in the motor with the Turbo Tero 5.0, however,
the 85Nm on offer with the Trek feels more natural in its strongest mode. The
Specialized trumps the Trek in the battery department, by 75Wh and it offers a
longer range. However, it does carry extra weight at over 25kg, compared to the
22.7kg on our Specialized.īoth bikes have a similar comforting, but sporty
geometry, although the Trek offers an extra 10mm of travel in the front
suspension – allowing you to take on some bumpy terrain. The bikes come in
around the same price – with the Trek only $113 more expensive. Specialized

mount, fully integrated &lockable downtube battery, internal cable routing, lock
and front rack mount The bike comes in 4 frame sizes – small, medium, large and
extra large – and the rear end is compatible to house a luggage frame over the
back wheel. The geometry lends itself to being comfortable – you feel upright
and composed on the bike, which again lends itself to be ridden over long
distances, rather than a more uncomfortable aggressive positioning. That weight
does add to the bike’s overall speed, though, which is exactly what you want to
get about quickly in the city or on a point A to B long-distance touring ride.
It isn’t light, but considering the size of the electrical components (which
we’ll return to shortly) it’s a damn good achievement. There are heavier
competitors in this sector of the market and we think Specialized have done well
to keep the bike’s overall weight down at 22.7kg. This Specialized Tero has a
strong E5 aluminium frame, designed to soak up pressure and provide comfort over
long distances.

ASCENSION BOARD GAME COMIC

12/31/2023

Every card is either a day card or a night card, and the board is considered to
align with whichever time has more cards in the centre row. Its central mechanic
is the duality of day and night. This expansion was actually the first one I
bought, though I'd played the game digitally and with friends beforehand. I love
it, but I know that not everyone will. This expansion is perfect for players who
love the purchasing side of Ascension and other deck-building games, but it
lowers interaction (due to each player having a personal Dreamscape) and reduces
the overall prevalence of combat. The third resource introduces new focuses for
some of the core factions, with some being better at acquiring dream cards than
others. Dreamscape (2015)Īscension's fifth major expansion introduces a new
purchasing mechanic, allowing players to buy cards from their personal
Dreamscape by paying Insight, a new resource shown in an orange oval. Fans of
asymmetry and compelling theme should try this one. They also do a good job of
bringing these iconic characters to life and giving them even more of an
identity. The characters encourage you to follow new strategies and reward you
for doing so. Dawn of Champions is the first expansion to introduce asymmetry
from the start of the game, and it's stronger for it. These characters have
abilities that can be unlocked when you reach a certain reputation level, and
each one gains reputation in a different way. The main difference with this
version of the game is that each player starts off with a character card
representing a major hero from one of the four factions. It is also the first
major expansion to include double-faced cards that transform from one side to
the other at various points, though these were actually introduced in Darkness
Unleashed, the minor expansion that works with Rise of Vigil.

For those who like deck-construction to be a little clearer, or like the idea of
allied abilities that feel reminiscent of Star Realms, Realms Unraveled could be
a very satisfying experience. It does this with double-faction cards, each of
which counts as two factions, and mechanics that care about playing others of
the same faction. Realms Unraveled is the first expansion to play around with
the four factions of the game: Enlightened, Lifebound, Mechana and Void. If you
like building up an engine that can do crazy things, this might be the expansion
for you. This expansion does introduce more randomness than many of the others,
as the distribution of crystals can be uneven, but it also rewards players for
intelligent deck-building and many of the cards have great combo potential.
Crafting an energy-centric deck is part skill and part luck, but the benefits of
doing it well can be huge. These additional resources randomly appear under
cards in the centre row and can power up various abilities on cards that care
about them. Rise of Vigil introduces a new type of card - Treasure - which takes
the form of Energy Crystals. It's essentially a slightly more polished,
well-rounded version of the base game, and can be paired with the Immortal
Heroes minor expansion for an even better experience. These new mechanics all
have the ability to create new options and game states, increasing the variance
of the game and the number of viable strategies. Notable mechanics include Fate
(cards with Fate do something when they enter the centre row), Events (cards
that sit in a separate slot with ongoing effects) and Trophy Monsters (Monsters
that a player gains when they're defeated, giving additional bonuses). The first
major expansion, Storm of Souls retains a lot of the original's theme and
features, but adds a few new mechanics to spice things up. Ascension Expansions
Storm of Souls (2011) If you decide to dive in with an expansion rather than the
base game (as I did, and didn't regret it) then my hope is that this guide will
give you the information you need to make a good decision as to which one to
buy. Knowing where to start with a game of this scale might seem pretty
overwhelming, but the good news is that you can buy any major expansion and have
a great Ascension experience reminiscent of the base game. The success of the
original game is such that designer Justin Gary has since created eight major
expansions (with a ninth on the way in June), three minor expansions, a team
expansion, a stripped back 'Apprentice' version and three collector editions.
Ascension is one of the first deck-building games designed, combining polished
deck-building mechanics with a unique fantasy theme, distinctive artwork and
compelling strategy.

INDIGO HOTEL EDINBURGH

Our room was a lovely large family room (#112) and was a great size for 2 adults
and 2 children. My IHG loyalty was recognised on check-in, and the reception
staff were more than helpful, taking our bags although we arrived hours before
check in, and then organising them to be in our room when we arrived back after
some sightseeing. Lovely hotel, within walking distance of the train station (we
did it with two children, cases etc., within about 10-15 minutes), and it is
just up from the Playhouse Theatre so an ideal base for whatever you need.

A truly beautiful five-star hotel in a truly beautiful city. The furnishings are
classic with a modern twist, the interiors elegant with grand staircases and
wide corridors, and it's perfectly located for both the Old and New Towns and
close to the fine Edinburgh Waverly train station. Visitors will find the
impeccable service they should expect from a Rocco Forte–owned hotel with the
nice touches that often come with many old buildings, like sizeable rooms with
high ceilings and ornate cornices, and proper wood-framed windows you can
actually open rather than hermetically sealed plate glass. Scott and opened in
1902, its majestic clock tower is an icon of the Edinburgh skyline. With views
of Edinburgh Castle, the Old Town, and surrounding hills from nearly all the 187
rooms and 20 suites a Michelin-starred restaurant run by Scot chef
extraordinaire Mark Donald and a beautifully appointed spa, The Balmoral is all
you could want in a luxury city hotel and more. If you have something to
celebrate, do it here-and dress to impress (there's a dress code). But the true
treat here is the Register Club, a reservation-only Champagne and cocktail joint
run by the genius team behind The Bon Vivant. Even if you're not staying here,
it's worth a stop for dinner the former marble bank hall that now houses the
restaurant is a stunner, and yes, the beef is divine.

There's an excellent outpost of the upmarket Hawksmoor steakhouse-the first in
Edinburgh. It sets the tone for the rest of the hotel, which is equally
sophisticated but without pretension. The bank was inspired by Modernist
American architecture, and the lobby is especially striking, with buttoned-up
black-and-white marble floors, a playful raspberry-pink circular settee, and a
stunning circular stairwell that's ripe for an impressive Instagram post once
you reach the top. The Edinburgh Grand, a hotel-turned-bank-turned-hotel, is
full of exceptional details that have thankfully survived the renovation. Read
on for 13 of our top hotel picks in Edinburgh, from just-opened penthouses with
a view to die for to historic homes that have played host to names straight out
of a history textbook. Or, there are the modern hotels, those that point toward
the city’s current position as an incubator of progress and forward-mindedness:
Here, although the buildings might have old-fashioned exteriors, their interiors
are by turns design-driven and glam-or marrying modern design influences with
historical details to create a hotel very much rooted in the present. Some
mirror the city's long, proud heritage of medieval, Victorian, and Georgian
architecture (the very bones of the city’s UNESCO heritage), steeped in
tradition and quietly elegant-think mahogany four-poster beds, tweed accents,
and bars filled with rare single malts you’d never find back home. Edinburgh’s
hotels by and large reflect the city’s two distinct sides-not opposites, but
complements that come together to form the dynamic cosmopolitan city it is
today.

On December 28, 2022, it was announced that it would close all retail locations.
On November 22, 2019, Enesco announced its CEO Todd Mavis would also become CEO
of Things Remembered. Things Remembered continued to operate more than 170
retail locations, as well as its online, direct mail, and B2B retail businesses,
all under its brand name. On March 8, 2019, Enesco, LLC, a global leader in the
giftware, home décor, and accessories industries acquired Things Remembered,
Inc., the North American leading omnichannel retailer of personalized gifts and
merchandise. In February 2019, Things Remembered filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy. In June 2017, Lisa Gavales resigned and Things Remembered appointed
a new president. In 2014, Michael Anthony who had been CEO since the Luxottica
spin off stepped down with former Talbots and Express executive Lisa Gavales
taking the helm. Prior to 2014, Things Remembered expanded to Canada purchasing
Key Man Engravables and slowly converted each store to TR1.

The chain was sold again in 2012 to Chicago-based private equity Firm Madison
Dearborn Partners for $295 Million which also backs fellow mall retailer Yankee
Candle. and GB Merchant Partners for $200 Million. The sale went through in 2004
and Things Remembered was quickly spun off in 2006 to investment firms Bruckmann
Rosser Sherrill & Co. The combined strategies paid off almost instantly allowing
the company to meet sales projections in 1999 for the first time in years.ĬNC
which now owned Pearl vision had become the target of Luxottica, parent company
of LensCrafters. There were three versions: General Gift, Wedding and Business
focused. Things Remembered also released its first catalog during this time.
Store associates took the title "Gift Advisers" with the premise that
interactions with customers were conversations between two friends coming up
with a gift idea. This moved the company to make stores warm and less masculine.
In reaction, the company focused on this removing all non-personalized gifts and
the motto was changed from Great Unexpected Gifts" to " The Place for
Personalized Gifts." Research also showed their typical patrons were women who
viewed themselves as unique gift givers. Cole National brought in a CRM agency
which revealed the store was seen as a "brass and glass" gift shop that offered
some engraving. Restructuring and an image change were necessary.

In 1998 the key business was shuttered while Things Remembered and its 800+
stores failed to meet sales goals. The company went public in 1994 to reduce the
persistent debt from the leveraged buyout. Sales began to slump and in 1990 Cole
National unloaded unprofitable business units leaving Cole Key, Cole Vision and
Things Remembered. The company prospered through much of the 1980s. The Cole
family reclaimed the company in 1987 through a leveraged buyout.

Cole National was taken private in 1984 by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. At the time
Cole National consisted of Cole Vision, DBA Sears Optical, Montgomery Ward
Vision, Cole Key Company, and several other subsidiaries. Things Remembered was
founded as "Can Do" in 1967 as a subsidiary of Cole National Corporation by
Joseph Edmund Cole.

Things Remembered is an e-commerce retailer specializing in personalized gifts,
messaging and engraving.
