While COVID-19 has changed everyone’s lives, we’ve been hit hard. The government
has set money aside to support farmers — but it’s not available yet. 


Tell your MPP our farmers need a hand.

THE TIME IS NOW.

Right now, the provincial and federal governments are negotiating improvements
to a program called AgriStability that would provide enhanced security to folks
throughout the agriculture sector from things beyond our control like
fluctuating market costs and increased production costs.

The Ontario government has already set aside increased funding in anticipation
of these changes.
While the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman has
done his part, it’s not easy to negotiate with 12 other provinces and
territories — it’s taking too long to come to an agreement. Meanwhile, we’re
left struggling.



Tell your MPP our farmers need a hand.

But there’s another program in Ontario — The Ontario Risk Management Program —
that works in a similar way to protect farms against downturns in commodity
markets and increased costs of doing business. Redirecting funds to this program
would ensure farmers that need it, receive timely support.
