communities from Hilton Head Island to Bluffton. Whether you come here for a

That means we empower you to bring your partner or other family members with you
to your appointments and your delivery so they can help you ask questions and
make sure that your birth plan goes exactly how you want it. 

We do more than just take care of you physically — we also support your
emotional needs. With top-of-the-line facilities and a compassionate, dedicated
care team by your side at each stage — labor, delivery, and recovery — we’re
here to ensure you and your baby are as safe and comfortable as possible.  

We’ve been recognized by local publications as the best place to have a baby in
the area and from BlueCross BlueShield as a Blue Distinction Center in Maternity
Care.

Hilton Head Hospital’s expert orthopedic team is honored to be nationally
recognized in six specialties, including orthopedic surgery. Our orthopedic
specialists offer the latest treatments and therapies, including surgical and
nonsurgical treatments for many bone and joint health issues. Whether it’s a
total hip replacement or a cast for a broken bone, we have the advanced
expertise and equipment you need.

Designated a Primary Stroke Center, Hilton Head Hospital’s team of stroke
specialists offer the highest level of stroke care available. Our highly trained
providers will create a customized care plan that guides your recovery from
diagnosis, treatment, and personalized rehabilitation therapies to help you get
back on your feet as quickly as possible.

We offer a comprehensive heart care program, from routine heart screenings and
cardiothoracic surgery, to stress tests and interventional cardiology. Our
nationally recognized heart team can treat and manage a wide range of
cardiovascular diseases for our communities in the Lowcountry.

GUEST SERVICES AND AMENITIES

Parking is free. If you arrive after the main lobby closes, check in at the
emergency room.

If needed, we offer curbside pick-up and drop-off to help you out of your
vehicle and guide you to your destination.

The gift shop is on the first floor near the main lobby. It offers cards, books,
magazines, flowers, candy, baby gifts, toys, and more. Call the hospital for
hours.

You can request a security escort to and from the parking lot (available 24/7)
by calling the main hospital contact number. 

We recommend you leave all valuables at home.

Weapons, drugs and alcoholic beverages are not allowed on Novant Health
property.

When you stay the night at the hospital as a patient, a member of the food and
nutrition team will visit your room to take your order for each meal. A chef’s
choice may be delivered if you arrive after orders have been placed.




PLAN YOUR HOSPITAL STAY OR VISIT.

Whether you are coming for a procedure at our facility or visiting a friend or
family member, we want you to feel welcome.

What to bring
 * Mobile phone and/or tablet and their chargers
 * ID card
 * Insurance card 
 * Sleepwear
 * Toiletries, eyewear, dentures and their containers 
 * List of your current medications (leave medications at home)

We recommend that you leave all valuables at home, as we cannot be responsible
for lost or stolen items.

Label your things with your name.

Medications

While you should bring a list of your current medications, please do not bring
your medications with you to the hospital. You can only be given medications
from home if hospital medical staff prescribe it.

Leaving your unit

Please stay in your room until your doctor has made rounds and treatments are
complete. Ask the nurses' station if your doctor has given approval for you to
leave the unit and let the team know how to reach you.

End of stay (discharge)

When your doctor determines you are ready to go home, they will: 

 * Give written discharge authorization
 * Review your follow-up care instructions with you (You will get a copy.)

Your follow-up instructions will cover things like appointments, medications and
incision care.
