Are you ready to take your paper crafting to the next level? Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting out, there's always something new to explore in the world of card making and scrapbooking. For this card, I used a creative technique that involves using two different thicknesses of embossing folders along with the charming Petal Park stamp set and punch. But what happens when you combine two embossing folders of different thicknesses? Can you see the result is a unique blend of textures as I choose the Quatrefoil Tile and the Layered Flowers 3D embossing folders, Stampin' Up! provides such great options. I then paired the beautiful line art flowers stamped in the new Pretty in Pink In Colour from the Petal Park stamp set on to Basic Beige card. Using the blender brushes I added some extra colour to them and punched out with the coordinating punch. The leaves were punched out using the Bough and Ladybird punches which again had a brush of colour and some teture with the dottage stamp from Layering Leaves. Here is a quick video of how I made it Please take a look at the other talented hoppers this month here... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previous Blog -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Blog -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. To CASE in crafting community can mean different things - Copy and Share Everything, Copy and Selectively Edit, Copy and Steal Everything, obviously I prefer the first 2 to the last one. I love to credit those who have inspired me. As someone wisely said, "there is nothing new under the sun". All our art and creations have been influenced and inspired by others. Even when we think we have hit on an original idea, you may discover that someone else has too. Anyway, on with the crafting. I decided to CASE a card by Barry from Mitosu crafts. It's called the Floating Side Panel card, and his tutorial can be found {HERE} I took the measurements and created this. I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamps and Dies 162822 that are in the Stampin' Up! Mini catalogue. The whole suite is beautiful and a joy to work with. I stamped the large floral stamp with Petal Pink ink on the same coloured card stock and used that as the background layers and stuck them onto the Gray Granite card base. The bird was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink on Pool Party card stock and large flower clusters with Calypso Coral ink on the same coloured card stock. I particularly like how the flower die can be placed on the flower image to add some dimension. The hummingbird wings was layered to give an impression of flight, and the Iridescent Pearls 158987 were a lovely finishing touch to the flower centres. To see how I made the card you can watch this tutorial Thank you so much for looking at my card, here are the other hoppers, I am looking forward to seeing what they create. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previous Blog -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Blog -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. I loved the results of this experiment that I just had to share it with you! Mixing stamp sets together comes really naturally to me as I have learned to appreciate the infinite potential of doing this. However I am aware that I don't want to overwhelm my viewers and readers with too many choices. I think these cards prove a happy medium. I use just two stamp sets; Hills of Tuscany 162682 and Garden Meadow 162736, or in this case Jardin Des Pres. I was accidently sent the stamp set and Stampin' Up! were kind enough to let me keep it. The ink pads I used were Early Espresso, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake To colour in some of the details I used Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink Stampin' Write Markers. I stamped on Very Vanilla Card, then mounted them on Early Espresso, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake Card. I love how they have resulted in a tranquil, sepia toned cards.
