SNOWFLAKE AI AND ML¶

Snowflake offers two broad categories of powerful, intelligent features based on
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). These features can help
you do more with your data in less time than ever before.

 * Snowflake Cortex is a suite of AI features that use large language models
   (LLMs) to understand unstructured data, answer freeform questions, and
   provide intelligent assistance. This suite of Snowflake AI Features
   comprises:
   
   * Snowflake Cortex LLM Functions
   
   * Universal Search
   
   * Snowflake Copilot
   
   * Document AI
   
   * Cortex Fine-tuning

 * Snowflake ML provides functionality for you to build your own models.
   
   * ML Functions simplify the process of creating and using traditional machine
     learning models to detect patterns in your structured data. These powerful
     analysis tools help time-strapped analysts, data engineers, and data
     scientists understand, predict, and classify data.
   
   * For data scientists and developers, Snowpark ML lets you develop your own
     models to solve your unique data challenges, without your data ever needing
     to leave Snowflake.


USE OF SNOWFLAKE AI FEATURES¶

With Snowflake AI Features, you’re always in control of your data. This means:

 * Full security. All AI models run inside of Snowflake’s security and
   governance perimeter.

 * Data privacy. Snowflake never uses your Customer Data to train models made
   available to our customer base.

 * Control. You have control over your team’s use of AI features through
   familiar role-based access control.

This table provides the release status, data classifications, and other

Represents the defined term used in the AI Terms and Acceptable Use Policy

If the source of any part of an Input is Customer Data, that part will remain
Customer Data. For example, if the Input is a SQL query statement, that SQL
query statement is Usage Data, but the underlying data accessed using the SQL
query statement is still Customer Data. See the applicable feature documentation
for more information.

Note

In this table, “Usage Data” and “Customer Data” are as defined in the agreement
between you and Snowflake covering your use of the Service, and if not, then
they are as defined in our Terms of Service.

   our Acceptable Use Policy.

 * The outputs of Snowflake AI Features may be inaccurate, inappropriate,
   inefficient, or biased. Decisions based on such outputs, including those

   processes to ensure they are safe, accurate, and suitable for your intended
   use.

 * Your use of any Snowflake AI Feature that is identified as being powered by a
   third-party, open-source model is subject to any applicable license agreement
   and/or acceptable use policy set forth under the Offering-Specific Terms page
   available at https://www.snowflake.com/legal/.
