I needed to have a head shot taken and was dreading it because I hate to have my picture taken, but from my very first communication with this studio, I felt relaxed, respected, and listened to. Both Daniel and his wonderful makeup and hair artist, Amity, went out of their way to help me. Amity encouraged me to send her photographs over the weekend so that she could preview some of the clothes I was considering wearing, and together, we found something that was flattering and comfortable. When it was time for her to do my makeup (and I never wear makeup, so this was a new experience), she consulted me as she went along, encouraging me to go a bit out of my comfort zone while at the same time showing total respect for my choices. Daniel made the experience of having my photo taken fun and relaxing. Like Amity, he struck a balance between listening carefully to my concerns and my preferences and giving me the benefit of his expertise. This was a great experience and I’m delighted with the results. I had my hair and makeup done before my pictures. They did a wonderful job with both and were very patient with me! The headshots turned out great! I needed professional headshots and googled a photographer near me. Thank goodness I came across Daniel’s studio! He was very professional and made me feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. My headshots turned out amazing!!! What a fantastic experience! Daniel and Amity (hair/makeup) were a joy to work with. Support local Durham business owners. I went to Daniel to get professional headshots for my company’s website and I could not be happier with the experience and results. Before booking, Daniel was very prompt in responding to my questions about the packages. After the photoshoot my proofs were available instantly and once I selected my favorites he did a fantastic job with the edits (and fast too, 48 hours turnaround time for mine!). During the photoshoot Daniel and Amity, the makeup artist and hair stylist, were such an amazing team. (I completely agree with another review that said they were both kind, friendly and professional - great way to sum it up.)I was nervous about having close-up shots of my face taken for the website and they were wonderful at putting me at ease. They certainly know what they are doing and I’m so glad I put my trust in them. I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, but Amity knew exactly what would work well in the photographs and the results in the pictures were great. During the shoot Daniel’s instructions were easy to follow. He clearly knows all the tricks to getting his subjects to pose in flattering angles. I highly recommend adding hair and makeup to your shoot. Most of my anxiety floated away as I relaxed in Amity’s makeup chair before the picture-taking began and she was on-hand during the shoot to position my hair or re-curl a piece as needed. Great experience from beginning to end! Bravo! I met with Daniel after doing an online comparison of photographers local in the area because I just loved his portfolio. I signed up for the full makeup and hair package for my professional photos as I haven’t done them in years, and Daniel and his team over delivered. I love the results and will use them for years to come! I’m sure I’ll engage him for family photos as a next step. My headshots turned out so nice -- Thank-you Daniel! This was my first time using a professional photographer…Daniel made me feel incredibly relaxed and the results were phenomenal…I can’t sat enough great things about Daniel and the entire process…he took some rather ugly raw clay and turned it into a fantastic finished product that was delivered from start to finish in two days!!! In 2020 we hired Daniel for our wedding photography - I can’t even begin to describe how blown away we were with not only the quality of photos but the professionalism he had shown the entire day. We were so happy with them we had to reach out again in 2021 for family photos which now included our one year old. Absolutely beautiful photos once again. If you’re on the fence don’t be! I was in need of a professional headshot for an internal corporate newsletter. I found Daniel Turbert's info via a google search. Quickly after submitting my info online I received an immediate confirmation for an appointment with all instruction for the session. Danial also responded back to my questions regarding Covid safety to put me at ease. He wore a mask the entire time and requested I wear one between taking shots. He was very efficient in setting the lighting and getting the shots he wanted. He involved me in in the selection process right there in the studio to narrow down to my top 15. Later that same day I received the photos online for me to narrow down to my top 5. I received my final proofs the following day. The photos were of great quality and I was amazed at how quick the process was. I highly recommend Daniel's services. I'm very pleased with the photos Daniel took. He has taken my headshots for my corporate profile at work (making me look professional, but not stuffy) and he has taken beautiful and timeless pictures of my children that are hanging in my home and office. I was expecting a quick in-and-out experience, where he snaps and I leave, then I get a link with a few photos and I select the least objectionable. Afterall, he was the cheapest photographer for headshots and I shopped around. What I found was an easy-going, yet professional atmosphere where he took about 25 photos of me with my glasses and then without. Afterward, we went through all of them on his laptop, omitting the clearly poor images where I blinked, didn’t smile well, etc. The next day I received an email from Daniel with a link to a slew of photographs and it was difficult to select the five required. It was from those five that Daniel would eliminate glare off my glasses, a difference in my eye colors, darken a blemish, etc. I would keep all of those photos but later those retouched five, and it was one of them that I chose for website. He invested a lot of time and made me feel like his only customer. This is high praise from a someone with very high standards. Forget the others; book with Daniel and it’s my opinion you will love the photos and the experience! Daniel did such a great job with my graduation photos! It was my very first photoshoot and he made it a success by suggesting great poses, understanding my favorite headshot style. I needed to have a head shot taken and was dreading it because I hate to have my picture taken, but from my very first communication with this studio, I felt relaxed, respected, and listened to. Both Daniel and his wonderful makeup and hair artist, Amity, went out of their way to help me. Amity encouraged me to send her photographs over the weekend so that she could preview some of the clothes I was considering wearing, and together, we found something that was flattering and comfortable. When it was time for her to do my makeup (and I never wear makeup, so this was a new experience), she consulted me as she went along, encouraging me to go a bit out of my comfort zone while at the same time showing total respect for my choices. Daniel made the experience of having my photo taken fun and relaxing. Like Amity, he struck a balance between listening carefully to my concerns and my preferences and giving me the benefit of his expertise.
