MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the United States District Court, District
Court for the Northern Mariana Islands is to serve the community by ensuring
equal access to justice for all by providing an impartial forum to resolve
disputes in a fair, effective and timely manner pursuant to the rule of law.


LATEST NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS


FRAUD ALERT! Fraudulent Notices of Electronic Filing (NEFs) are being sent to
attorneys and law firms across the country. These fake NEFs are phishing
attempts to convince recipients to respond back to the emails. Once a recipient
replies to the email, they are sent a follow-on email containing a link to
access a document that leads the user to a malicious website. Please exercise
extra caution with potentially illegitimate NEFs, validate cases and case
documentation through CM/ECF only, and do not download any attachments or click
any links from unofficial or questionable sources.
 

Regular Business Hours. The Court’s regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., Monday through Friday, except on legal holidays.

The intake counter at the Clerk’s Office closes during the lunch hour from 12:00
p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and at 4:30 p.m. each business day, except for the last
business day of each month when the intake counter closes at 3:00 p.m.

The public may attend open court proceedings. The use of face masks and social
distancing is optional based on personal preference as set forth in General
Order No. 22-00004. Social distancing accommodations may be provided upon
request.

The District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands will be closed for business
on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Public Notice for Reappointment of Incumbent Magistrate Judge - Posted:
07/01/2024
The current term of office of United States Magistrate Judge Heather L. Kennedy
at the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands is due to expire on June
10, 2025. The United States District Court is required by law to establish a
panel of citizens to consider the reappointment of the magistrate judge to a new
four-year term.
