Designed by Russ Kommer in Fargo, North Dakota

Russ Kommer is a custom knifemaker who was based in Anchorage, Alaska, for many
years.

Conditions there are rugged, either from the climate or the work folks are
doing. He thought a knife that was easy to grip and hard to lose would be a big
hit, hence the Bear Claw™ fixed blade knife design. A cutting machine that,
thanks to the generous size finger hole, acts just like an extension of your
hand. It is the perfect emergency cutting tool for anyone who needs to quickly
cut rope, webbing or netting, especially if their life is going to depend on it.

The Bear Claw also comes with a versatile, gear compatible sheath for carry
options.

Russ Kommer is a bright young custom knifemaker who was based in Anchorage,
Alaska, for many years. Conditions there are rugged, either from the climate or
the work folks are doing. He thought a knife that was easy to grip and hard to
lose would be a big hit, and since he made the first Bear Claw™, he hasn't been
able to meet the demand. His original concept was a self-defense knife for women
that would be lightweight, easy to access and control. But it seems that every
parachutist, bush pilot and commercial fisherman who sees one, wants one.

As a result, Russ and CRKT® teamed up to make the production Bear Claw, a
cutting machine that, thanks to the generous size finger hole, acts just like an
extension of your hand. It is the perfect emergency cutting tool for anyone who
needs to quickly cut rope, webbing or netting, especially if their life is going
to depend on it.

The Bear Claw 2510ER is a professional model which has a blunt tip and serrated
edge, making it perfect for seat belt removal during emergency rescues and
extrication from lines or nets in the water. The blade is full-tang,
taper-ground AUS 4 stainless steel with a polished finish to resist corrosion.
Friction grooves are placed on the blade spine, choil and near the tip for
maximum blade control and safety. The contoured high visibility orange glass
filled nylon handle fills the hand neatly. The Bear Claw weighs in at a
lightweight but stout 3.4 oz.

We developed one of our CRKT® trademark high-tech sheaths for the Bear Claw
that's only 1.1 oz. of tough, durable, injection-molded glass filled nylon. It
allows efficient quick release of the knife—just thumb push against the sheath
to release smoothly and quietly—or give a sharp pull.

It features molded-in threaded fittings for attachment of the wide black
stainless steel pocket clip at either end, using the Torx® tool and screws
provided. The sheath also has a total of seven lanyard holes and belting slots
to permit a variety of carry positions, and a lanyard is provided.

fishing and hunting guide, he started making knives when one of his clients
brought him a custom knife and dressed an entire moose—without sharpening it.
Since then he’s made it his duty to build the kind of tools only he would use.
It just so happens his Bear Claw’s™, and Hoist’N Lok®, are the kinds other
hunters use as well.

    I purchased this to strap onto the outside of my firefighting gear and thank
    God I did! The other evening I was working at house fire and was positioned
    in the basement. We had been working to put the fire out for a few minutes
    when the fire start to rollover on us, an early stage of a potentially
    lethal situation. As we start to back out of the basement my helmet became
    entangled by numerous low hanging copper wires to the point that I couldn't
    move out of it. I was able to get my Bear Claw out which sliced through all
    the copper wires with ease and I was able to continue with evacuating before
    it flashed over on us. So thank you for making an awesome product!!
    Definitely a vital tool for any person to have when they need to rescue
    themselves or someone quickly!

    As a whitewater kayaker and raft guide this knife is fantastic for cutting
    ripe, is small and discreet enough not to be noticed by clients and seems

    Awesome knife. This has been mounted to my climbing harness as a rescue
    knife in the event I need to cut rope. My main activity is Canyoneeering and
    Mountaineering. I tried the Bear Claw to cut a 8.3 mil static rope and it
    cut in one slice like butter. A great investment.

    I bought this knife to have while boating. I considered many other knives
    but the bear claw is the best. It is hefty enough but not too large. It
    easily cuts webbing and rope. The blunt tip adds safety. The sheath is
    secure.
