ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC

ABOUT THE COURSE



THE #1 TOURNAMENT CHOICE IN THE INLAND EMPIRE

The Sierra Lakes Golf Club course has the perfect appeal for outing play. The
various terrains, water hazards, and lay-outs over each of the 18 holes are what
golf challenges are made of. The course is located in some of the most
breathtaking views in all of SoCal.



The Inland SoCal United Way Annual Golf Classic will be run in accordance with
local and state COVID-19 guidelines.

Players will be kept up-to-date on specific requirements.

 * WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE GOLF CLASSIC TAKE PLACE?
   
   
   The Annual Golf Classic takes place on Tuesday April 12, 2022 from 8:00 a.m.
   to 1:00 p.m.
   
   The event will be held at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club, 16600 Clubhouse Dr,
   Fontana, CA 92336.
   
   

 * WHO CAN PLAY IN THE GOLF CLASSIC?
   
   
   The golf classic is open to the public. Anyone can participate.
   
   

 * WHAT IS A 4-PERSON SCRAMBLE IN GOLF?
   
   
   The scramble format often is used at large-scale golf events, such as
   charity, corporate or pro-am outings. A prime advantage of a scramble is it
   allows players of all abilities to contribute to the team's success and helps
   speed play. Golfers who are new to the format can quickly learn the rules and
   terminology. The most common scramble format is for four players, but it can
   be used with fewer or more players.
   
   
   
   Definition
   
   The four-person scramble features teams of four players competing against one
   another.
   
   In this format, each team's players hit from the teebox, then the team
   members choose the best of the four shots for the next shot.
   
   All team members then play the second shot from that location, and again
   choose the best shot. Play continues in this manner until the hole is
   completed. The team then records its score and maintains that format for all
   18 holes.
   
   
   
   Teamwork
   
   Scramble tournaments often are used at charity and fundraising events, many
   of which feature novice or occasional golfers. Many of these golfers have a
   high handicap. By forming teams in groups of four, it increases the odds that
   at least one player on the team will hit a quality shot during every
   rotation, thus helping speed the pace of play.
   
   The format also plays to certain golfers' strengths.
   
   For example, some golfers excel at hitting tee shots, while others are better
   at chipping and putting. A 4-man scramble gives each player a chance to shine
   on various shots on any given hole.
   
   

 * WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE REGISTRATION FEE?
   
   
   Breakfast and lunch is included for all players.
   
   Individual player fees include the green fee, shared cart, and a goodie bag.
   
   Foursome Team fees include four green fees, two cards, practice range,
   refreshments, four goodie bags, and a team photo.
   
   

 * WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
   
   
   Participants may pay via credit card or check. If donating cash during the
   event, please have exact change.
   
   

 * WHAT KIND OF CONTESTS DOES THE CLASSIC INCLUDE?
   
   
   Some of the contests include longest drive, closest to the pin, putting
   contest and ticket raffles.
   
   

 * IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE GOLF COURSE?
   
   
   Collared shirts are the only mandatory dress code for this tournament. Golf
   attire is encouraged.
